What Was The Funniest Thing You Saw Today?

Featured Replies

Whats the funniest thing you saw today?

Mine was 'The Gentlemans' face when he ate a raw Satore bean, I nearly choked to death on mine from his reaction, big puff that he is.

Another one is:

I remember 10 years ago I was sitting on a Mini bus going to Trang and a Honda Dream came by with a bloke and a dead body tied on the back of him, arms flapping wildly as they over took us, I will never forget that as long as I live

How about you lot, what funny scenes have you seen?

Bash

It's not all that funny but I did see a Thai man on a aluminum step ladder in a swimming pool with a electrical power drill. He was drilling a hole in the ceiling above the pool and yes the extention cord was dangling in the water. I told him he could get an electrical shock, but he said "mai pen rai"

stupid farang does not know anything!

I was walking thru a construction area at a paper mill that I was working at and I kicked this large cardboard box out of my way when I notice there wer a thai couple doing it native style under the box. I apologized to them and told them to keep on doing it as I walked away.

You never know what will be under a cardboard box.

Sihanoukville, Cambodia, outside a bedding shop. This tiny, frail looking middle-aged guy and his oversized wife had just bought a queen-size mattress and now had to escort it home on their ancient Honda.

Started off they both got on the bike, him at the helm, and four shop staff wedged the mattress between them. Then, puffing and panting they curled the sides in as far as they could towards the weedy driver who was pushing himself backwards into the mattress as his wife, barely holding onto the sides with arms wildly outstretched, pushed forwards to press it firmly against him, for stability.

Laugh if you will but in 'bodia that's perfectly normal - and after several attempts yes it did work, between the six of them they managed to get the mattress perfectly balanced.

Only problem was, the mattress + only 2 people + bike structure would only remain stable for as long as the 4 youths were holding on and nothing disturbed it, like nothing at all, not even a light breeze, and certainly nothing so radical as physical movement!

Anyway, as the structure started to roll, very slowly indeed, the shop people ran alongside holding onto the mattress... when he had built up enough speed, about twenty yards down the road, they let go and seemed to bid him well - and (Polaroid moment #1) three of them actually turned around with satisfied grins to return to the shop!!

Polaroid moment #2: Do you recall those early flight movies, the one where the chap wearing wings leaps off a cliff? Well, imagine actually watching something like that in real life.
