Five regions warned of heavy rains brought by storm Doksuri

Somdet: We have a field behind our house, at least 1.5 metres lower than our garden, and the water is nearly up to our level. Another field next to our house has flooded into our garden after the roadside ditch has overflowed. Down the road from us, in a dip, there are lights of cars and lorries that have come to halt because a bridge is down or flooded. This is worse than the three day rain of last month.

Do you know where that water flows to?  We have had floods twice in the last few months and I have a feeling that it comes from up your way... we live by the big lake near the prison in Kalasin... thanks..

Strange weather, for sure, near Sawang Daen Din. Last eve., cool & windy; night, some rain; today b'fast, barely drizzling; half-an-hour ago, heavy rain looking like it was here for the day and, now, fine but with some distant lightning and the low grey cloud hurtling NNWat a fair rate of knots . . . strangest weather I've seen in 5yrs but, then again, it's the 1st tropical storm I've known of.

Here in Kalasin yesterday about 3 PM.. huge wind and thunder.. but only a few drops of rain..  today light shower at the moment..  This is quite a good site for tracking the weather.. anywhere in the world..  'Ventusky'..  bottom left is a calendar you can change the date to track..      https://www.ventusky.com/?p=16.6;103.6;5&l=rain-3h&t=20170915/00

Thanks for the link,  it's one of the best I've seen for tracking weather!

Yom River near family home in Phrae, overflowing for first time in 20 yrs. Don't think it's finished rising yet either, Nakhon Sawan is downstream so it will be next I imagine

Not sure why the warnings have been aimed at the Northern provinces, when Phuket was badly hit from Thurs. night onwards?

Two storms.. one of the Adaman Sea heading from Phuket to the north west... the other on came from Vietnam across the north east.. now centered in the north west as well..  have a look at this link... change the date back to see where they came from..  https://www.ventusky.com/?p=18.3;92.4;4&l=rain-3h&t=20170917/00

Category 2 Typhoon at landfall in Vietnam predicted to be the strongest in 10 years. Looks like the track has shifted W from WNW which could bring the centre of the storm over Nong Khai instead of further north in Laos. Most of northern Thailand will be affected to some degree but hope the areas hit hard by TS Sonca are not too badly affected. Here in Chaiyaphum it is clouding up but no sign of any wind or rain just yet. There is plenty of rain showing up on the Khon Kaen radar though so expecting things to go downhill from late afternoon onwards.

Whatever that is, it's not a typhoon.
