I am confused. (A common state.)

Given that Yinluck was not a fugitive until after she failed to turn up at the court to hear her fate as summonsed by the court. The establishment were keeping a very heavy handed eye on her but they were not restricting her movements within the country, well not much.

The how, where, and if, she crossed the border may be another issue but until the court issued the warrant some days after she "disappeared" from her home in Bangkok Yinluck was "technically" a free citizen.

What has anyone done illegally in helping her leave her home and go for a trip? If they were police weren't they just following orders to keep a close eye on her (until she gave them the slip)?

TiT. The current PM decides what is illegal. The law? He just uses his big 44, and he stops everything he does not like, twerking for instance...

Well, apparently you are not quite correct. Ms Yingluck was granted bail on the condition she would not leave the country without the court's permission, which obviously she did not have. Apparently there is a section 189 (somewhere in Thai law) that to aid such a person to leave the country is an illegal act. I think the police are just trying to confuse the public which by your own confession, shows that they can succeed.

What bail? When was she sentenced and granted bail. You are making things up.

I find the issue of Yingluck's bail confusing.

On August 25th the Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions postponed reading the verdict to September 27, issued an arrest warrant for Yingluck and ordered the seizure of the bail guarantee of Bt30 million. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/detail/breakingnews/30324851

But I cannot find any reference to the alleged Yingluck bail guarantee prior to August 25th. That wouldn't be surprising since Yingluck was never arrested and held in detention. "When an alleged offender or defendant has been arrested and held in custody, then he or she has the right to apply for bail."

However, by coincidence on August 25th former commerce minister Boonsong Teriyapirom and "19 others" were convicted in the case of bogus government-to-government rice export deals. Boonsong's lawyers sought a temporary release of Boonsong to lodge an appeal with the Supreme Court using a previous offer of a Bt30 million guarantee to the court to bail out Boonsong. The court didn't agree but bail negotiations continue.

Is the Court confusing Boonsong's bail offer with Yingluck's no show in court? I look forward to seeing factual information related to Yingluck's alleged bail guarantee made prior to August 25th.

Good links. Agree that this bail is rather confusing. Never seen (to my knowledge) a malfeasance case whereby a collateral was required to ensure court appearance. All told, this case is unprecedented and first of its kind in Thailand. The conditions laid out by the judge are also not clear and nothing mentioned in the media.

Don't accuse me of manufacturing stories, I did some research before I wrote...obviously you didn't! Here's a quote from  https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/yinglucks-disappearing-act-means-sacrifices-bail-thai-passport-assets/ "August 28th; Yingluck’s disappearing act means she sacrifices her bail, Thai passport, assets....Yingluck was supposed to  pay compensation of about THB36 billion, roughly 20 percent of the losses incurred by Thai citizens over her rice-pledging scheme. She was freed on a THB30 million bail bond, which has already been seized to be put toward paying off her debt."

And here's another from Time @ http://time.com/4910450/yingluck-shinawatra-thailand-verdict-warrant/ " August 25th....Thailand's Supreme Court has issued an arrest warrant for former prime minster of Thailand Yingluck Shinawatra after she failed to show up in court Friday to hear the verdict..."

Maybe they lied or made the story up.

You right. My apologies. The court grant her bail on condition she can't leave the country without permission.

No need to apologize. I am as confused as anyone here and that's when it's a good idea to check what has gone before. If these guys run around in circles much more there'll disappear up their own...well you know. Ha!

Prayut ‘knows where Yingluck is’ but refuses to say

Breaking News September 26, 2017 16:50

By The Nation

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha on Tuesday said he knew the whereabouts of fugitive former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra but declined to reveal her location.

“I know [where she is] but cannot say anything for now. I will tell you after [Friday],” he told reporters after a weekly Cabinet meeting.
