Residents in a well known tourist soi in Pattaya want their road back.

And the new unofficial "watchdog of Pattaya", Sophon Cable TV, are calling on the authorities to get down there and clear tables and chairs and parked bikes so people can get to their homes as they should.

The soi in question is Pattaya - Na Klua 33 - better known as Soi Kitti Car Care.

Residents went to Sophon to complain after their requests to the local authority fell on deaf ears.

Sophon snapped pictures of lots of offending items in the roadway, including many unwitting tourists.

They called on the powers that be to get down there and help the residents.

They added that the soi was indicative of the neglect of officialdom suggesting that such problems had to be sorted out if the resort was to live up to its moniker of "world class resort".

Sophon has been very vocal and highly critical in recent weeks citing problems facing the resort.

They will clear em for show for awhile, and after the awhile, it will be business as usual, just like the "return happiness(pavements) to the people" plan.

The street vendors who had been cleared away are back again.

Enforcement. Enforcement. Enforcement.  If only there were a group of people who would enforce the existing laws instead of accepting bribes to look the other way.  They could wear uniforms and call themselves Police.  It might be worth a try?

Encroachment, what a joke! Almost every business in Pattaya has taken what is supposed to be the footpath, then have the hide to claim the road as their's as well with their "customer parking only" signs. A nation of habitual law breakers born of an endemic culture of graft & corruption.

I really wonder how many residents live on this stretch?

Soi Kitti Car Care, you never stop learning.

To me it was always German schnitzel road :cheesy:

By chance, was it Kitti who complains?

Same here. It is all businesses down this soi, so it must be residents living over the shop.

Despite the many German places on this soi, it is also home to 2 of the best Italian resaurants in town: Little Bella Italia and Grottinos. Buono Appetito.

To that may I be so bold as to add nepotism & impunity throughout every level of government, police, the judiciary (across the board) & right up to the highest level in them all. JMHO.?
