I am currently on my second marriage extension which will expire soon. However, this year we had a child and I also got a work permit.

Since getting the marriage extension is quite a marathon and a big pile of papers, could it be easier to get the family based extension? What are the required documents?

Thank you

The required documents are about the same or perhaps more at some offices.

Also some offices may not let you do it  since you are married to your child's mother.

Best to stay with the extension based upon marriage IMO.

It's definitely not easier. The only advantage to changing would be if you are using cash in the bank to meet the finical criteria. Some offices will waive the need for the 400K being in your bank for 2 months before applying if applying as a parent.
