I would also suggest Chiang Mai ... if you haven't done the Doi Inthanon Waterfalls then they are worth going once....just once .. and at this time of the year there is quite a lot of water...

We were up there a month ago. There is almost no way that you will not have to pay the non-thai price. If your wife is not too young and you have window film and you drive through the admission gate and park and you wife walks back and says two Thais over sixty then you may only have to pay thirty baht for the car ....

We stayed at Riverside House Bed and Breakfast. It doesn't sound much but it had good write-ups.  Location is great and across the road is the bridge which takes you right into the 'busy' area. There is also a fantastic Pizza place less than one hundred metres down the road going right out of the 'hotel'... really worth a try.     We were out most of the day playing golf so didn't see any value in staying at an expensive hotel as we have in the past.

If you happen to use route 21 and then route 12 don't miss stopping at Story Cup by Coffee Hill ... also Steak Khao Kor which is just a few hundred metres away ... steak first and then coffee ...

If you decide to stay the night in Phitsanulok I can recommend 'D11 Hotel'. If you happen to stop in  Nakhon Sawan  I can recommend '42C The Chic' ....42C has quite a meaning .................

Of course you can do CM and CR and Nan if you want ..........

Whatever ....enjoy
