A contingent of 50 men led by district chief Niti Wiwatwanich raided premises at Muang Thong Land in Bo Win sub district last night after reports that it was being used as a brothel.

Previous attempts to bust the operation had failed as someone had radioed ahead but last night the authorities hit pay dirt.

They rounded up 31 Laotian women and one Thai.

The women said they came from Vientiane where they had no work. So they came into Thailand at the behest of two friends to sell sex.

They were paid 1,000 a time with 300 baht going to a mama san.

The authorities were acting on complaints that the premises were being used for sex. Men who knew about the presence of the women would turn up and take them to rooms and resorts in the Bo Win area.

Manager reported that the authorities were successful last night as they had a plan though no details were given as to what that was.

Those arrested were aged between 20 and 25.

Laotian women arrested for alleged prostitution

By The Nation

Officials raided a boarding house in Chon Buri province and arrested 31 Laotian women and a Thai woman for selling sex.

Nattapol Klunnuch, the owner of the 25-room boarding house in Siracha district, was also arrested and charged with operating a hotel business without licence.

Nattapol said he knew nothing about the prostitution activities. He simply rented rooms to couples at Bt120 for three hours and Bt450 per night.

The raid was conducted on Tuesday night and was led by Siracha district chief Niti Wiwatnanich.

Niti said he had received a tip-off that a pickup truck was seen bringing a lot of women to a boarding house near Muang Thong Land Market in Tambon Borwin regularly.

The officials found the women were in the age group of 20 to 25. Eight male patrons were present with them at the time of the raid.

A Laotian woman said she had travelled from Vientiane on the invitation of a friend who had come to Chon Buri before her. She was staying with a friend and was paid Bt1,000 for sleeping with a male patron but she had to share Bt300 with her “caretaker”. She said she had no job back home and had been working in the sex trade for four months.

Sigh. Remember the good old days when the news stories would include the intimate details, like the exact address, phone number and hours of operation, as a routine part of the story.

For those that don't remember, many media outlets (mostly in Pattaya I think) used to have a habit of publishing the exact addresses of the subject of the story, be it someone who died or was robbed, etc, etc. Didn't matter if it was a private residence or if it was about someone who'd been arrested/assaulted/robbed or killed themselves. Sometimes the article would even include scans of the victim's/perpetrator's passport "face" page (with some of the details slightly blurred). :omfg:

Without knowing the address of the establishment that is the subject of this particular news article, how will we know what area to avoid accidentally strolling through (like say, this coming Friday night) ? :whistling:

Note to self - must visit Sri Racha more often

Bo Win itself is on the 331 and near Amata City - Sri Racha centre is about as far away as Pattaya! Laem Chabang would be closer.....

The Futile Pursuit Championship Cup

Venue: Sri Racha District - Wednesday, October 4th, 2017.

Law Enforcement 2 (2):(0) 3 Oldest Profession

Thai 1                                        Status-Quo 80, 85, 90

Lao 31

What promised to be an exciting match ended; as it ALWAYS does with Oldest Profession out playing Law Enforcement for the umpteenth time.

Law Enforcement started strong with Thai scoring in the first minute and Lao extending their lead just after half-an-hour. However; as is ALWAYS the case, Oldest Profession secured yet another victory as Law Enforcement capitulated in what was a 'week' second period, which saw Status-Quo prevail with a late hat-trick due to Law Enforcement's sheer negligee...or something like that.

It must be coming up to 'performance review' time in Chonburi Province as it looks like the BiB are hitting the easy targets which is so much easier than going after real criminals who might have guns or connections in high places....

There have been Lao women plying their 'trade' in the Eastern Seaboard for yonks now. We used to have some stunners in one of my old locals in Bang Plee though none seemed to last long either getting snapped up by a 'sugar daddy' or going home once they'd made a few quid. It was quite a high turnover trade, the human tide in action...That this wasn't well known by the authorities is a nonsense as most of the main clients were BiB/Local Officials or their cronies...

1000 + 300 ? Age 20-25?

I like those rates

I read it as 1000 all in Hmm, maybe the first post a little ambiguous, maybe clearer in the second post where the word share was used

Even better if thats the case

One thing I noticed on one of my last trips to pattaya was how many Laos were working in the basic foot massage places.  Seems like 4 out of 5 places had Laos. Even the well visible ones right there on Second road
