scubachild
Can anyone please update me on visa on arrival rules for genuine UK tourist who has only visited Thailand once 8 years ago and is now planning a one year travel around S.E. Asia. How many consecutive visas can be given? And what is consecutive? For example 2-4 weeks out of the country before return to Thailand. Can 3 or more visas on arrival be granted....? Many Thanks
Briggsy
UK citizens cannot/ do not get visas on arrival in Thailand. They can receive 30 days' permission to stay under a visa exemption. You are permitted 2 of these in a calendar year at land borders. There is no total stipulated limit for air and land entries but expect questioning the more you use. Keep 20000 Baht in cash or other currency equivalent on your person when entering.

I also found this online which seems to confirm the comments above The 90 days in 6 months rule went away in 2008. The 15 day rule at border crossings was rescinded on January 1st of this year when the rule limiting them to 2 per calendar year at land border crossings went into effect. tonbridgebrit
Okay, so for us people with British, American, German, French passports, you can go by land to Laos or Cambodia. You stay in Laos/Cambodia for just ten minutes, and you walk back into Thailand, and you get a 30 day stamp when you walk back into Thailand, and you can do this twice in a calendar year ? And one calendar year means Jan 1st 2017 to Dec 31st 2017 ? And it also means Jan 1st 2018 to Dec 31st 2018 ?

All nationalities that qualify for a visa exempt entry get 30 days at a land border crossing now. There is no longer a 15 day rule. You can do 2 of them every calendar year. It is January 1st to December 31st for every year.
