Queen Mathilde of Belgium to attend King Bhumibol’s cremation ceremony

The Belgian Royal Palace announced on Friday that Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium would represent her husband, His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium, at the cremation ceremony for Thailand’s late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Government warns against abusing smartcard use

The government yesterday (Oct 6) reiterated it’s tough action to deal with state-sponsored shops that seized the welfare smartcards of low-income earners, as well as smartcards holders if they are found to abuse and trade the cards for cash.

Thailand Work Permits Now Available Through Phone App

The app, Thailand Digital Work Permit, was introduced to companies and foreign employees on Friday.

 

BANGKOK – Thailand’s Labour Ministry and the Immigration Bureau have launched the first smartphone app on  allowing expats to lodge requests for work permits and have them approved, though applicants will still need to make at least two “offline” trips to specially set up centres to complete the procedure.

Flash flood, mudslide force closure of Mae Moh golf course

The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat)’s golf course at Mae Moh in Lampang province was partly closed on Friday (Oct 6) after heavy rain which caused an area at the foot of a hill subsided, making a 5-metre ditch about 30 metres long.

People advised to get readied to attend royal cremation ceremony

CAAT: ICAO may have removed “red flag” from Thailand

The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) may have removed Thailand from the list of “red flag” states with safety concerns, but the matter still needs to be verified, said Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) director Chula Sukmanop.
