Newborn abandoned at public laundromat in Phuket

By The Nation

A newly born baby boy was found abandoned near a coin laundromat in Phuket’s Kathu district on Sunday.

Rescuers were alerted by customers who had brought clothes to wash at the facility on Soi Phra Baramee 2 in Tambon Patong.

The baby was left without any clothes and his umbilical cord was still left attached.

The baby was rushed to Patong Hospital where he was declared healthy.

PHUKET: A newborn baby boy is currently in the care of Patong Hospital after being found dumped in a local launderette yesterday.

A staffer from the hospital has said that the baby was no more than 12 hours old at the time he was found.

At around 2:30pm yesterday (Oct 8), Lt Col Weerapong Rakkito of the Patong Police received information from a Patong resident that a baby boy had been found left on a shelf in local launderette close to the Kapkauy Restaurant on Phrabaramee Soi 2.

Sad to have to start life with the huge disadvantage of not having loving parents from day 1 onwards.

Hopefully one of the hospital staff might adopt the wee boy.

This sometimes happens
