Bangkokk Post post bag

Featured Replies

For 15 years I have been reading Postbag in the BP. I have not known the Government , or any of its agencies, take any notice of the "expert" advice given by the serial posters, or any posters for that matter. Is there a psychologist who can explain why they continue to post ,knowing its going to have ;no effect and is going in the bin anyway in about an hour or two. ( And dont get me going on about Eric, he publishes under his name so I assume it is ok  for me to name him).

I am not a Psychologist, but how do you know the Government or its Agencies,

do not take the advice given by "experts",and pass it off as their own ideas,

highly unlikely I know,as Thai's generally know best.

Maybe they continue to post in the hope that one day someone will listen

to their sage advice,or maybe it's just that they have nothing better to do.

regards Worgeordie,    P.S. I am not Eric

I agree, but they keep posting. Some not for 15 years though.

Well, people like to voice their opinions, without expecting to change the world, as it happens on this board.

Personally i appreciate people's opinions, sometimes much more than the bare news .

Perhaps the return of Edith Clampton (Mrs) and Khun Hazel might be a move in the right direction.

It would be a move in the direction eventually leading to Count Fosco.

How right that would be is an open question.

Although they were all occasionally amusing in their own ways.

I used to write to Postbag back in the time of Edith Clampton. One letter I wrote caused a great deal of controversy for weeks and one writer even wrote a whole column about it. Before the internet, it was a good way to give exposure to unusual or unpopular ideas. Now, it is a lot easier to post something on Thai Visa.

Indeed the internet makes posting about many if not all topics child's play Ulysses G as opposed to the old snail mail contact system..
