Many metros in European cities overflow with African drug peddlars and pimps who openly indulge their trade on the streets. No racial suggestion or generalization here, but it is a fact.

 

They utterly mock the flaws in the judicial systems and have established well organised networks in their areas of illicit operations.

 

It is good news to read that Thailand cracks down on the situation before it gets out of hand and out of control.

 

One definately finds more sense in policing drug peddlars or other crooks in place of harassing honest tourists and expats on basic visa formalities.

Only surprise is that the Thai Government haven't acted sooner against the Nigerians sooner. Having lived and worked in Germany for 15 years. This is a problem Germany has with many of the Nigerians. One of their favorite targets is to find a German woman or National who they identify as easy prey for whatever reason. Get her to marry them for a Green Card, than they find other Nigerians to sneak into the country illegally and put them up in their homes. As well as have another girlfriend on the side, obtain a phony documents from Nigeria and Marry again. All the time, taking as many benefits as possible form the German Government under multiple names. They are very quick to claim discrimination at the drop of a hat. They have been one of the problem migrant groups in Germany for years now. As well as Italy. Many European countries have been monitoring them for years now. Simply because they have caught on to the many Scams they run. Glad to see that Thailand is finally trying to get control of the problem before it gets a lot worse.

Not before time is all i can say.... they've been chipping away at Bangkok for as long as i can remember!!  Good work RTP!!!

Whats the problem ? If you dont want to buy no one is forcing you . I thought thats why whiteys are in Bangkok anyway for the hookers and drugs .

There are definitely  Thai women who rip guys off (often the guys deserve it)....... But there are also MANY (MANY) Thai ladies that give value for money doing things that you would never do, and THEY would never do - IF they had better options...........

In any case the ones (Black ones) caught by the Thai Police were caught in the act in each case........ Thi article is just an indication of how many Nigerians and other 'Africans' there are on the streets of Bangkok...... and I am pleased to see the cops can recognise where to look..........

On my way to Foodland (as Tops supermarket is now flooded) I saw one of the African guys who's always on Soi 13 back there and staring at passers by to gauge whether he should approach, four African guys sitting on the steps of the nearby 7-11, and two African guys with a girl dressed  perhaps as the assistant to a stage magician or other cabaret act, (or even another profession entirely) all doing their tourist activities, though why sitting on the steps of a 7-11 from morning till night is a good use of time touring a country I cannot understand.  

 

Anyway it didn't even take a day.

 

 Now, I have to point out that I don't think all Africans are criminals, but there is no reasonable interpretation of the behaviour of these particular guys other than selling illegal drugs and pimping. 

 

However I am sure there are many Africans here who are not criminals (this is not sarcastic, I mean it). However they do not spend their days outside 7-11's calling out to people.
