On what law the cca i expect, this is public info so can be used

Very strange someone registered the name yesterday after I highlighted it was available as never registered.

Someone must have friends in Cyprus

You are referencing something that has now been removed because of the potential for defamation / litigation and not related to the originally posted incorrect domain name which has subsequently been registered.

For those who may want to check up on owners of domain names that end in .com

Icann is the world issuer and all info on there is 100% correct and fully substantiated , but many today do hide their name from the ownership and pay a bit extra for the service

https://whois.icann.org/en/about-whois

Local like .co.uk and .co.th are issued by that country and again you can check on the local look up sites

All information is in the public domain so usable, that is why it is there.

I hope that helps you do a check if you are uncertain about a website.

Actually you can go to most major domain registrars to determine the ownership of a domain in almost any of the the thousands of extensions that are available today. There are some cctld ( country domain names)and others  that are exceptions and you simply look up the cctld whois.

Privacy(anonymity) is an option for some domain extensions but not too difficult to find out the real owner if you know what you are doing.

All domain name registrars who sell .com pay Icann a sum to be registered, a UK company also pay Nominet for UK .co.,uk, .uk and a few others.

find out the real owner,

just send the site an email if you get a reply you may have something to work with in finding out who is behind it otherwise very hard as icann and nominet will only give you the info they have on registration

Yes we can do the checks, as its what we do everyday and create the websites to go with the new domain names in the UK, USA, Aus, Laos, Cambodia and Europe.

I didn't think privacy was allowed on .co.uk/.uk and quite a few other extensions,.in,.cn etc?

Other ways of finding domain owners, and you don't have to get a reply from an email you sent to determine if it has been received.

3,782 people have Schultz as surname in Denmark. The Germans must have left a few offspring when they invaded.

Indeed, even sung & hailed in our national antem ?

Oh, wait - this was the past... nowadays there is Merkel and any kind of national antem prohibited & punished - only reserved for all other nations in this crazy world... What a shame! Even the football team names only "the team" by order of this fat'n ugly traitor!!! ???

Why register the company and Thailand, and have bank accounts and credit card processing here at all?

The whole operation can easily be setup from the Cayman Islands with a Cayman Islands nominee company, online credit card processing facility, and corporate bank account. A .com website can be hosted somewhere in eastern Europe - as long as it looks pretty and has all the right colors and backdrops to look like a hotel booking site, the further the servers are from here the better.

You never setup physically in the same locations where you fleece.

Amateurs.

Is it certain the accused is a man.  Sorry, but this looks like something else. Was the person's gender verified?

Schultz? Not a very Danish surname.

Depends how you think. It´s included in place 80-90 of the most common 100 danish surnames.

Such scumbag cheats deserve no clemency. :post-4641-1156693976:

Who would appreciate having paid and reserved in advance to have their holiday ruined on arrival ?

Their sentence should be harsh enough to serve as  deterrrence for those with crooked minds who think Thailand is a safe haven for crime....

Lock up the cheat in Bangkok Hilton and no more Danish Butter Cookies for a while....:hit-the-fan:

Butter might come in handy for the first couple of weeks. ????

Looks like it might be a bit of phishing as the guy was hosting on his own Secure System Co Ltd:

"Surachet said the website, which has been operating for more than two years, was registered by Secure System Co Ltd, a firm owned by Schultz."

Again, possibly not a .com but a .co.xx..................

Would that hold true if  a Thailand based  CC was used?    Do Thai credit cards offer that kind of protection against fraud or theft?

If it’s a MasterCard, Visa card or American Express card then yes, you’re protected worldwide.

As mentioned, credit card protection from visa, mastercard is global

I have had to use it a couple of times over the years and the bank staff were very helpful in organising a charge back

I don't know why people think buyer protection doesn't exist in Thailand, in my experience they don't think twice about reversing the charge if you get scammed online etc

If they allowed unscrupulous merchants to rip off their card users they wouldn't get their % + foreign exchange fee so its in their best interests to make card payments safe and easy
