Getting to Aranyaprathet from Pattaya

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if MK Tours are still operating from Pattaya to Aranyaprathet?

Last time I used the service was November 2015.

Failing that any suggestions on getting to Aranyaprathet from Pattaya?

TIA

Just asking.

Are you bound to go to Aranyaprathet / Poipet?

If you intend to do a border run(?)  (with or without visa) this checkpoint is not the best option from Pattaya.

Neither in travel nor in potential hassle/crowd at the border.

I'll be traveling to a place near Puok off National Highway #6,  what do you suggest KhunBENQ?

No advice on that as you want to actually travel to a place in Cambodia.

My question was just about visa/border run (out/in).

From a quick glance it looks like you have no good alternative than going through Aranyaprathet.

Poipet is a shithole of the first degree. Use extreme caution if you go there.

Thanks for the heads up Soistalker, I am aware of the scams and to avoid the so called international travel center.

Take the big yellow bus from the north station. About 5 hours, comfortable seats.

I ended up taking a Mini Van from the top of South Pattaya Road.

Departed at 4am and arrived at the temporary international bus station around 9am where we took a "Baht Truck" to the border (10 Baht)

Only a couple of people in front of me at both Thai & Cambodian immigration.

There were a lot of IO's at the Cambodian visa building and the usual sign asking for a "200 baht processing fee" was not there.

I got my visa in less than 5 minutes.
