I have an app called ECAS on my phone. Every morning when I take dog for a s..t, I look at the meter and put the reading in my phone. No problems possible, or am I a saddo?

Anyone who says "no problems possible" and doesn't knock on wood real quickly is just asking for it.

Not unique to Thailand, but getting bit in the ass seems to happen here a lot.

Lol - what a coincidence. Posted about my electricity bill 2 hours ago and who just went through the neighbourhood ? The PEA meter-reader. Nice to note that apparently I've used 83 fewer units this month than last. (Almost entirely due to reduced air-con usage I'll bet.)
So, the bill is calculated on 23rd of the month (give or take, depending on weekends/holidays) and is debited from my account on the 11th of the following month. Too easy !

"There appears to be irregularities with the Bill"? Let's see!

Power Bill for the last 2 years was between 2,000 Baht to 7,000 Baht a month. This month was 338,000 Baht.

Since the Meter Man is Thai than he must have read the Meter Numbers correctly. Since the Meter was made in Thailand then there can be nothing wrong with the Meter either. So the conclusion is very simple.

This woman was using more power in one day, for 30 days, then she ever used in a month before. She used more power this month than she did from a total of 75 months.

So she either bought an Olympic Sized Swimming Pool with Electric Heater that didn't shut off and boiled all the water away, or the city of Bangkok Plugged into her Power Meter downstream of it. No confusion there.

Gee, that makes my last four bills look expensive. 555. First one 46, then 148, 238 and the last 209 baht. Only just moved and I was really shocked that they were so low. :shock1:  And yes, I wash, shower twice a day, have a fan going almost 24/7, cook and use the air conditioning, admittedly, not everyday or night but then there is only one of me now.   My water is just as good, around the 110 B each month.  No wonder the woman is having a heart attack over her bill.:wai:

I have been living in this house for over 3 years and we have every water & electricity bill to date, I had it in the last place I rented, all of a sudden the electric went from about 1500 Baht to over 5000 Baht, I had all the bills (from the landlord) over a 3 year period, I showed him and he couldn't argue, he swallowed it and had a new meter fitted.

How can you have "historical charges" when you pay the bill monthly ??

Heck, thailand is getting more and more like the wild wild west.  Generate a bill and the people now have to fight to get things corrected.

My Neighbours in flipland tapped into my water supply and after several months I noticed, got the plumber round to cut their supply and concreted the pipes. They actually then complained to my girl that now they had no water. Figure that one out...

I always read our metre two days before it is due to be read, and can work out how much the bill will come in at after a week later when we receive it.

Sister-in-law up the road kept boasting how her bill has been coming in at around 50-100 baht per month for the last 6 months, with us telling her on many occasions to go and sort it, she decided she knew better, suffice to say she came over the other day with an electricity bill of around 10,000 baht back dated and due to an error with the metre, and asked us to pay it for her (loan), which we declined, with her saying, well, I just won't pay it....boo-hoo, enjoy the dark, no air conditioning, and cold showers sister-in-law, who knows best !

What happened in the end? (This latest episode was 9 days ago.) Any chance of an update? I reckon she managed to borrow the money on the sly.

To be honest, we have no idea, as we do our best to keep ourselves out of their affairs, and keep them as far away from ours as possible, no doubt she borrowed it from someone stupid enough to lend her the money, she owes everybody money and can't pay them back, a typical Thai thing I hears 555
