Indeed. But no evidence AFAIK on who actually did this.

And let's not forget the poor widows and families of the Moslem HR lawyer whose been missing for many years and the ecological activist "Billy" who disappeared after discussions with authorities.

Only the latter two weren't engaged in a factional political dispute where enemies could be made from all sides.

Cummon even you can't believe your Junta is innocent on this one and how many MORE have 'disappeared'?  and the secret jails that Thais know about?  and you approve???  I'm still hopeful one day you will wake up and snap out of this ambivalence to injustice.

What a truly dreadful riposte.

As for agendas....if that's how you feel why did you bring up ' Billy ' if you don't have your own agenda although I agree, another terrible abduction .

And there are many more that you will never hear about but SHHHHH  don't spoil BB and a few others illusion that the the Junta really is here to help ordinary Thais  :cheesy:

I brought up Billy and the HR lawyer to illustrate that people regularly disappear here. And despite much publicity nothing gets resolved. If you want another strange case, look at the former pyramid scheme fraudster who got abducted and murdered - where Chalerm solved the crime even before the body was found!

It's all smokes and mirrors here. Nothing is really what it seems. Today's enemies can be tomorrow's best friends. And, as is posted on many many threads, by many posters, there is a higher propensity for the acceptance of  lying as part of the game in Asia than the West.

I don't have that illusion. But we should help your delusions that the Shins are here to help anyone but themselves!

Well at least we cal all agree on that!  'people regularly disappear' and that is a DISGRACEFUL reflection on any government and society. And why?  because there is NO accountability and the Army are a law unto themselves.

Nice try. Only it isn't just the army is it. The police, also a law unto themselves. That is indeed a disgrace.

They don't, never said they did... it's a bit like the choice between Mao and Robin Hood - you can never control the Mao but at least Sir Robin gave away some of his plunder to the poor.

A whole pile of wrongs cannot make a right .

All smoke and mirrors  ?   I think you'll find that if you put aside your red tinted glasses for a while that there are many things that are exactly as they seem .

Abduction and murder are exactly what they seem and nobody is ever going to see Kotee or Billy et al again.

In other news, Western countries have warned interpol to be more selective over issuing red notices, especially as authoritarian states such as Thailand, Russia and Azerbaijan are using them to attempt to prosecute critics and political opponents.

Of course we know Thailand never really got Interpol to issue a red notice for Yingluck in the end, as that would be entirely counterproductive, as well as entirely fruitless, as the UK where she is currently seeking amnesty recognises her charges as politically motivated.

That's what happens when you are a bit banana republicy and have coup after coup after coup, thinking that you can just do what you want, like a spoilt child.

It was widely reported at the time it was a group of Thais, likely Thai military that abducted him. There are witnesses.

Add to the fact the junta was threatening for ages to bring him down, I don't really see any other likely possibility, do you?

As for dragging up another case to prove some sort of moral equivalence to justify your obsession over Thaksin, please, give it a rest. It's tiresome and pathetic.

A somewhat jumbled response.

'as the UK where she is currently seeking amnesty recognises her charges as politically motivated. '

Please provide links that show Yingluck has formally requested political asylum - nothing to do with amnesty, in the UK. Please also provide a link to show where a court in the UK has formally rules that her conviction was politically motivated?

Or are you just making up again?

Your constant denial that the Shins are crooks, and that all their convictions and outstanding cases are all "political persecution" is pathetic as well as tiresome. Your obsession with defending them makes one wonder at the motivation. Perhaps you truly believe they are as innocent as a new born babe and just social philanthropists. Who knows.  But I and a few other posters, aren't going to simply sit back and read such bilge without responding.

When they say, "We're coming for you..."

It begins to sound like a good excuse for a round of govt paid excursions to London, Dubai and other nice places where various of the fugitives supposedly are "hiding out"... First class air, expensive hotels, touring the area -- all in pursuit of justice, of course...

When they actually bring back just ONE of these sorts, then I'll begin to believe it.

Red tinted glasses - you must be unique among TVF visa posters!! Certainly the first, and probably last, to accuse me of favoring the Reds!!!

Murder and abduction, and grand theft too, are exactly what they are. The point is attributing blame based on no evidence but hearsay from "witnesses" who are unlikely to be unbiased, reliable and driven by the truth alone isn't sensible. Especially in a context which is known for the amount of lies.

I have no idea what's really going on at the top - and neither do you.

Was this man disappeared by agents, who perhaps learned by working with the CIA? Or had he become an embarrassment to the Red side or perhaps a rogue not following orders ? Who shot Seh Daeng? Same thing. We can all speculate but we'll never really know; and this is the same.

Secret jails - ah, you can't prove it because they're secret!

There is no justice in the Western sense, and no political movement pushing for it either. That's how it is.

From what I've seen the BiB are wary, probably rightly so, of the BiG.

However, they haven't got total control but I'm might be working on it!

Rather muddled response in which you ignore all the reasonable questions I posed.Nevertheless you seem through the verbiage to be saying that the KTB case is serious enough to warrant Thaksin's extradition.Though he is as far as I know yet to be charged and more importantly yet to be found guilty, I wouldn't disagree this is an extraditable matter - all other things being equal. As I understand your position this is all you are saying and ostrich head in sand you propose to completely ignore all relevant considerations. If this is all you are saying we can find common ground.

Very few countries have extradition treaties for fraud.

By red tinted glasses I meant you see the reds as guilty until proven innocent.

Now then ....let me explain something to you. When somebody sees something with their very own eyes and has just been tasered it is not ' hearsay ' evidence. It is very much a case of being a primary witness to a crime.....an eye witness account. Even people on the street provided eye witness accounts

Hearsay evidence as you might deduce involves the ears not the eyes and implies repeating something told you from another person.

However I will allow that English is not your first language so you might have not been clear on this.

As for people having agendas .....hidden or otherwise, you are correct if you mean that people have views and express them here. Everyone posting does that.

If on the other hand you wish to imply that people sympathize with one faction or another and their posts are therefore tainted with bias I would have to say that this would be a clear case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Lest we forget,  Mr Wuthipong Kochathamakun was abducted by 10 masked men from his home in Laos  on July 29th , where he had fled for sanctuary. His wife and a friend were tasered during the abduction.

Social Media later circulated pictures of his dead body.

Whether you agree with his politics or not this is murder just the same. A cowardly acted leaving his wife devastated and with no hope of any redress....ever.

I think we now have a useful and recent precedent where a member country (Russia) authorised an Interpol global arrest warrant on a criminal charge, but clearly politically motivated.

Oh look Canada told the Russians to go screw themselves

Shame you never live up to your Avatar name!

It ain't political persecution when you've committed fraud. Then it's just being a common criminal.

Talking of Avatars as you are I do not have one as if I put it on its taken off, just like the photo last night

Correct me if I am wrong, but yours said "I was brought up on bullshit and can smell it a mile away" Did I remember that right? BullS>> being the word and you used it,

Thaksen and Yingluck are not as corrupt as your hero who clearly stated the GT200 worked and helped procure them at a price that was double paid in Iraq, just check the UK court files on the guy who got 10 years for the fraud. UK MOD tested them and also gave a report as to Utter Rubbish and they did not or ever would work. So your man said after this report they did work, but either his men where  too tired or not trained to use them,  who is lying there please? He also fell on the Mark is coming on the 30th did he not. Lie after Lie after Lie

When I joined TV I was not on anyside, all I wanted was to see the country move forward for the sake of the majority of Thai people and that I wanted to live in such a beautiful country. Alas after 30 years of my connection all that's happened is the oppersite.

After seeing your replies and others like RobBloke I asked myself can Thaksen and Yingluck have been so bad, but I also noticed the certain few seem only to come out to play when those names are in the posts on TV. Now I have investigate a few cases in my time and really do know what bullshit is, as it was always used in the defense by those crims I nicked.

It simply cannot be true all the stuff you say about them and that is a fact.

By acting as you do and thinking only with your willywonker you made me take the otherside. You and those few others that come across to me as in some instances as an Alias.

If you want to get rid of someone and you do not have them in your grasp, what do you do? Just bad mouth them as you have been doing, so as the country since the 40's with coup after coup.

Yes I can also smell bullshit as you put it and have many years nicking the ones who give it b4 I retired at an early age with 30 years on the clock. To end you did not know what a brummie was did you? I set that just to see if you did and you failed, everyone in the UK knows what a Brummie is except you, why is that?

In time I hope they do get the Red bull guy, but Thaksen and Yingluck not a chance, I also hope in time the country stops the bullshit and joins the human race.

In cases of asylum in the UK you do not get any info from the home office or court cases with reports. What is done is it is all worked out, then after current events you may get to hear a thing or too or you may not.

We do not know she is in the UK or applied for Asylum, it's all hearsay at the moment and coming from this end not from the UK. If the press in the UK got a whiff of it, then it would be front page news for sure as there are no CCA or idiot prosecutors to stop free speech in the UK.

If she has applied it will be kept inhouse for a while, your be the last to know, mind you he has spies so he says, but the UK has MI5, MI6 and a police force that does work, even though most of my old family do not carry guns, so again no Thai would risk it for sure and yes they are monitored in the UK.

If the Shins are crooks, what the hell are those who stole the country and then make people disappear? Guess what they also (from my Lao friend where dressed in black), next you will blame the reds for that.

Give us all a rest from the bull go on holiday for a few weeks and treat yourself to a good time, leave the computer at work, your enjoy it more without it.

One analogy. I think I'd compare the choice more like Victorian Britain - where the elite could vote, make decisions, and become even more vastly wealthy at the expense of the working class who were deliberately kept impoverished and uneducated and a "socialist" country like Venezuela where everyone's equal but some are more equal and those in power simply change the rules so they can't be voted out.

Not a good choice to have to make!

Not a good choice in that scenario I totally agree. I wish there was a 'third way' here (not red nor yellow) but I consider free elections a better choice than NONE.
