PHUKET: Chalong police arrested an unnamed tour bus driver who freaked out at Phuket's iconic Windmill viewpoint on Cape Promthep yesterday (Oct 27).

Chalong Police were notified about a weirdly-behaving bus driver disturbing locals and scaring tourists on Cape Prompthep at an undisclosed time yesterday afternoon.

Having arrived at the scene police found a bus parked in the middle of the road to Windmill viewpoint and its driver “in a violent and distressed state”. Inside the bus there was a group of scared Singaporean tourist, and according to police, by the time they arrived some onlookers “were about to intervene”.

NICE!

Good to know the company checks up the drivers, so we can travel safely with them.lol

If you read the article in full, at one point he was throwing rocks at his bus.

Reminds me of.......

And quite a few here support making drugs legal and freely available...

Alcoholism would then be like baby's milk.

you wait when this gets out, a great advert for THAI tourism, still no probs he will be getting his kicks  on route 66 tomorrow lol

B500 fine then and a Wai- sorted!

No we don't, that is just a strawman fallacy and hyperbole.

What we do support is a sane and rational approach to drugs, with it treated as a medical problem not a criminal one, and where addicts can get treatment and help.

That doesn't mean making drugs freely available

Is it normal for buses to go up that steep, narrow road with a limited turning area?

Or is it only crazed, meth addled nut jobs who go there?

If he had tried to back down that road with a bus load of tourists and was slightly off, it wouldn't stop rolling until it hit the ocean

Only crazed meth heads.... cars go over the edge there, and even though there is somewhere to turn, just to the left, there is really no reason to take tourists there

cape promtheps main lookout is just around the corner, with all the vendors.... and even parking for buses (although the ignorant barstools still usually park in the worst of places), where all the drivers can sit together and drink whiskey while the tourist gawp at the sunset.

IMHO.... this guy got lost, but it wasn’t his fault... no no no... he was high... it was the ya bas fault, and he was late for a drinking session

Just another oxygen thieving cretin. Should never be allowed to drive again! A menace to his passengers and other road users. :post-4641-1156693976:

When will the Government and its public servants get real about driver and driving habits in the Kingdom? They just do not seem to care. Always talking always no action.

By this logic you’d have to make alcohol illegal, too.

Taking drugs is one thing - taking drugs and driving a bus full of tourists is something completely different.

Antisocial drugs like meth, heroin and alcohol should be heavily controlled. Drugs that can be grown should be free.

And they are redrawing lines all over the place these days...

A twig drawing on the beach sand would make more sense. After an incoming tide, and we can draw new lines

Right, I'm off to plant a beer bush.

Learn to make the alcohol by yourself. We need the fields for better things than massively produce the drug of choice of alcoholics.
