Someone sticking a birthday card in an envelope and paying the minimal airmail charge to send it to Thailand is not going to get the same delivery time as  they would sending an international priority package.

 

My mail is 90%+ simple airmail correspondence, cards. letters, bank statements etc etc, and these take the times I have listed to arrive.

 

Bangkok may be  different, but in Phuket the times I have given are routine never less than 10 days, often 2-3 weeks and sometimes never arrive. All sent by plain airmail. Interestingly mail Phuket- UK is fast and simple, so I suspect the delay here is due to the Bangkok or Phuket sorting offices.
