Thailand Post has a Contact Center 1545 (with English speakers) but as the letter's tracking information originated in the UK it's very unlikely that they would be able to help, that would have to be done by the sender.

I get a lot of post from England and it never takes less than 5 days to arrive, tracked or otherwise, you haven't really given it enough time yet.

Post from UK to here never takes less than 10 days and more often 2-3 weeks. Mind you, I think the local post office saves them up until they have a worthwhile packet to deliver.

I have had things sent to me by DHL. I discovered that as soon as it arrives in Bangkok the tracking almost stops. Telling me it is still in Bangkok when the local Post Man has it in his hands already. Seems to me the tracking only starts again after you receive this package (ATM Card).

Best bet is to go to your Local Post Office with ID, and any other Tracking News about your package, and have them check. You might be surprised to find that they have it sitting there, but haven't delivered it yet.

I have the same problems with mail from uk 80%  GETS LOST after reaches Thailand ,thought the army in charge was to reduce corruption !!!   it appears to not be the case !!

The last time she sent me a letter it was well quick. It's been 13 days now so I am a starting to get concerned and today she told me about she put bank cards on it. I was lost for words. When I asked if she had time for a phone call she said not if you are going to moan lol.

I wouldn't worry too much about it saying Bank Cards. Had my Visa sent here saying that and I got it no problem. I don't think the Post Man can read and understand that anyway. Or at least not mine.

If you are worried you can always call anytime. But I think it is best if you show up in person to your local Post Office and with someone who can speak Thai. I did that once when I expected something and although it wasn't there at this time we made him aware of it coming. He got my wife's telephone number and did call her when it arrived a few days later.

Dose anyone know how reliable the tracking info is once it gets to Thailand and can I ring the Post Office here or go into a branch and ask.

The Thailand Post's Track-and-trace website is actually very precise. They have an eMail contact service for lost items, where they reply quickly in good English, and do search for lost items (talk for positive experience). The clerk at the Post Office will use the same track-and-trace platform, only if the letter has arrived locally, he can search in their own papers, if for example delivered to a wrong address and signed for there, otherwise the clerk will advise you to contact "Bangkok". But as others has suggested, give it a few more days, as the post-service has been shot down during the cremation ceremony.

I am right now tracking an International Signed-For item on the Thailand Post website (it's sitting at Laksi, delivery probably tomorrow).

Enter the UK tracking umber into this site http://track.thailandpost.co.th/tracking/default.aspx and slide the thingy.

I stand corrected.

That's just not correct, 5 working days on average is normal for delivery in Bangkok from the UK.

You probably have problems with 80% of taxi drivers also.

The International Tracked and Signed which I referred to earlier was posted on 25/10 and arrived today 01/11 not a bad service, cost GBP 9.25 for 90g small packet.

Do let us know when it arrives, and tell your sister that if she ever does that again that you will rip her arm off and slap her about the face with the soggy end  As you can see, only joking.

My daughter does the same for me and uses parcel monkey, pretty cheap, traceable and reliable.

I suggest you call the bank and put a hold on the cards immediately whilst you are waiting.

I can't put a hold on them only cancel them. Now I know they have just been in transit I am not that worried any more I reckon I will have them tomorrow.

Haha do what again you mean my sister putting bank cards on the envelope, wasn't me mate.

Keep in mind last week was quite disrupted due to public holidays and the big event, so I wouldn't be surprised with some delays. I had a letter arrive from Europe this Monday that took longer than normal.

I have found the Thai post tracking on their website to be pretty reliable, I buy a lot of stuff on e-bay and receive packages from all over the world via registered air mail (cheaper for the seller than a specialist courier).

I have only ever had one very long delay, where it was recorded as received at Laksi and was not dispatched for several days, a quick e-mail inquiry via their website and it was happily on its way.

If it's showing as having already left Laksi, it should be with you very shortly, assuming you are in Bangkok.

That's right brother, blame the sister.

I've lived in Bangkok for 5 years. Nothing from the UK sent in that time has taken less than 10 days to arrive, and most takes 11-15 days.

Maybe I've just been unlucky.

I live at Koh Samui – far from Bangkok – and often get registered mail from Europe, including UK, in 5 to 7 days; even a normal airmail letter can sometime arrive in less than a week...

This is Phuket - no idea what happens to the mail between Bangkok and Phuket. And, as I said, I think the local post office hangs on to the mail until there is a sufficient amount for one address or one moobaan to make it worth a delivery.

Clearly, you have been unlucky.  The last delivery I had here took 6 days, another small parcel from Liverpool was posted on Monday and I don't expect that to take any longer.

All is not rosy, though, another item posted from the Isle of Sheppey on 12th September still has to arrive but as that was a padded envelope with something that, to a thief, possibly looked as though it may have had a value I've written that one off already.  It happens with postal services sometimes, not very often, anywhere.

I am awaiting a packet of flower seeds, ordered from UK, shipped on 15 October - that's 3 weeks near enough. I'll wait another week before suggesting to the sender they might have been lost, stolen or strayed.

Problem is BKK mail center. My son sent me 2 registered letters in mid August, both left Switzerland after 2 days. One letter took 4 weeks to appear in BKK, the other one 6 weeks. 4 days to my home once processed in BKK. Non registered mail is hit and miss, anything from 3 weeks to 2 months or not at all.

Nonsense.

As a change from the usual uncorroborated, negative hearsay, here's my latest delivery from the UK.  Posted on 30th October, it arrived in my condo this morning, 7th November.  It took the usual 5 working days.IMG_20171107_130541.thumb.jpg.001bd107a79f3d79eb5e4565703062ab.jpgIMG_20171107_130655.thumb.jpg.330631dcb8297dc35765e7b9b50875e8.jpg

Clearly there are different options to send mail, and unless you are comparing the same  method, this is a bit meaningless.

Someone sticking a birthday card in an envelope and paying the minimal airmail charge to send it to Thailand is not going to get the same delivery time as  they would sending an international priority package.

My mail is 90%+ simple airmail correspondence, cards. letters, bank statements etc etc, and these take the times I have listed to arrive.
