hello, for my Filipina girlfriend I am worried. She gonna give birth around nearly March, for me no problem to stay in Thailand but it's for my girlfriend.

We came in Thailand on July. She's arrived by air, then we go to Vientiane, she applied a TR visa, then she extended it and it gonna be expire in 1 week

So we're thinking if it's better to make a visa-exempt land border crossing in Vientiane, without applying any visa, then extend it for 30 days, so we can reach almost middle January, then on half January apply a TR visa in Vientiane and make it extended to 90 days.

Then it gonna be half April, then remake again a new TR visa, eventually in the other country not Laos, or use the land border crossing on Nong Khai/Vientiane to extend it again without visa..

so we think if it's good idea to mix visa-exempt + TR visa, instead to make continously TR visa.. to it can make win more time ?

I would strongly recommend that you continue to get tourist visas exclusively, only using visa exempt entries when a problem arises with a visa application. When staying long term on tourist entries, visa exempt entries by land should be husbanded carefully. They are your insurance policy.

In this case it might be worth getting a visa exempt entry since the 2 per calendar year at land border crossings will reset on the 1st of January.
