It is undeniable that racial profiling would be the 'silver bullet' for so many of the current security and criminal problems world wide. Unfortunately, history has shown that mankind's ability to abuse this valuable tool knows no bounds. Even the 20-or-so questions about every boarded passenger that the US TSA mandates foreign airlines to provide them in advance of the plane arriving on US soil handily skips around the two most obvious questions of ethnicity and religion. If the US Supreme Court upholds the privacy of all free individuals regardless of their nationality, then there's not a lot of hope for any POTUS to abuse them no matter how much he rants and raves. But when it comes to Thailand, there's nothing to stop them labeling and pigeonholing foreigners based on their own xenophobic, racist and nationalistic tendencies.
