I am happy in Thailand, I just don't like the so-called "government" and the ridiculous fool heading it.

In the US, I didn't like the Obama government, now I don't like the Trump government.

I think not liking the government is just a feature of the openly corrupt modern world.

To like any government, you would have to be either 1) extremely naive or 2) head well down in the trough.

PS. I do tend to particularly dislike governments that make people disappear for saying stuff (sensible or silly).

There's more than a couple, it's you that are in the minority. So why do you bother coming on TV to try and argue an indefensible point. It's a waste of time as you wont convince anyone of anything.

Oh I think he does it simply because he gets a buzz out of winding up people and their responses. Of course he may well believe the sychophantic neofascist drivel he spreads around, but as the Duchess in "Alice in Wonderland" said: He only does it to annoy, because he knows it teases."

elected government... have a look at the elected government in N Ireland

who at the moment are not in government. now i ask the question...

who is there in Thailand that would be trusted to form a government to

give the people a stable and fair economy

I take it, you are from NI?

So you'd rather have a military junta, your personal freedoms and democratic rights taken away, then dealing with an incompetent, but at least democratic elected government?

Interesting!

He forgets he came to Thailand for a reason. Probably he didn't like his own government and someone said if he didn't like it he should leave rather than have a stake in his country of choice.

You're right, he's in a minority but that never prevented anyone from having an opinion and having the right to express it, so he knows at least something about democracy, which is more than most Thais do - in my opinion and experience.

It's really not. Not in the same way that buying off villiage headman, offering "business loans", or the rice pledge scheme are. Night and day difference.

Do you have any evidence for this? I ask since I have seen articles by journalists and academics discussing the Thaksin vote buying in great detail.

Because the vote buying the Dens did was in a much lower scale. It was average or traditional vote buying. The vote buying fron Thaksin and his puppets was a lot more organised and on a much larger scale.

I did try to reply, really I did. The first time I posted I got logged out. The second and third times, the reply was not submitted and the fourth time is this time.

I really like the new board though. full of bugs but looks good on the surface. Sort of a metaphor for Thailand really.

sorry maybe i have,nt worded my question in a proper way. I totaly dissagree with military rule

i asked was there any one who could be trusted to run the country other than the military.

and N Ireland would not have military rule it would be direct rule from Westminster.
