Pattaya is bracing for an influx of visitors that will herald the start of the high tourism season for 2017/18, reported Sophon Cable TV.

Early season highlight for the resort is the Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat show until November 22nd.

Some 6,000 additional visitors are expected to be attracted by the event that marks the 50th anniversary of ASEAN and attempts to showcase all that is best about Thailand.

Head of the Hotelier's association of the Eastern Seaboard Sanpetch Suphabawornsathian said that hotel bookings for the event were at 90% in Pattaya that is expected to house most of the visitors.

Most attendees were families who had booked via websites and social media, he added.

Hmmm, and the 'Hotelier's association of the Eastern Seaboard' accounts for what percentage of the hotels in Pattaya?

They are advertising heavily on Thai media sites.  Supposedly, there will be fireworks on Saturday and Sunday.  Big time.  From what I've heard....

The fireworks were cancelled last week.

Wasn't it reported here the other day that the fireworks were cancelled, because they didn't have a budget for it?

Understood.  But that's not what I heard from somebody who's supplying stuff to the Navy for the fireworks show on Saturday and Sunday! 5555

Plus, there are ads all over Thai social media.  Many.

Yes.  I'm confused also.  Can't figure out what's going on.

It would be nice if anybody is in Central Pattaya and can tell if there are barges out in the sea like in previous years?????

this is the biggest BS I ever heard about an International Boat Show per se and especially about the one in filth and thicket of Pattaya: No overseas skipper ever comes here with wife and kids! The boats are HIS hobby and for sleazy, sticky Pattaya nights he prepared plenty of cash to get a leg over...

that might, however, not go for a few Ivans and Abdullahs...
