Nothing screams "Thailand" than a cow dressed in a cowboy outfit.

Why didn't they pick some Thai motif?

if you did not read and see it you would never believe it, we had similar in Milton Keynes UK, where a new town had Concrete Cows standing in fields to show the new residents from the inner cities that it was the country.

This is on a par but probably more stupid and illogical but then who ever said Thailand ministries have logic in their arsenal anyway.

141 mascots? I hope they're all different so I can take a photo every time I see one.

some people really milked this one

Bt 170,000 for a cow! Bulls**t. I only paid Bt. 17,000 for a live buffalo.

Funny stories make me laugh, you know...

U pesky farangs, whatever we do you complain

20m baht !  Pull the udder one.

And what is your beef ?

Ironically,  contemporary plastician artists like Koons, have sold worse for 100 times the price !!...

But then its is the name of modern art and who are we, to dare point a finger on some expressions of modern "genius"!

One may assume that the strength and value of modern art is not in the artwork but on the attached price tag !!! :-)))

4 plastic cows for the price of one middle class family house in the same area ...

And that says more than the words.

Edit.

I'm sure there are few talented guys in Thailand doing things with discarded waste scrap to come up with with something on the the lines of the Harriet Mead cow attached for a lot less than a plastic disney style thing.

The large resin/fiberglass Cows seen around varrious cities

can be had for $1000-1500,  unpainted. USA price.

Imagine local manufacturer/China  could do it for much less.

could have simply ordered on alibaba!

handmade, customized.....$650-1590

Someone had the cows in the top paddock. The grazing was better with a higher payoff in the market place.

Ali Baba should start a program where they sell a $1000 plastic cow for $5000. Then return a $3500 cash rebate in a envelope.

Yes infantile cartoon cows is what we all fly 14,000 miles to see. I love the pot deer in Khao Yai National park. Have to put up the entry fees to cover this scam, for foreign tourists only of course.

I can make a cow like that for 20,000 Baht.....

So this is what hoof n mouth desease is.

When questioning the issue of corruption the cost of the cow is moo t.

The manufacturer can pretty much quote any price. But there are various ways the manufacturer can give back any excess to the buyer. Therefore there is no corruption in the truest sense of the word. There was no lying, no need to fix the books.

You can liken this to electric light shows, large statues being built and weapons purchases.

You might say there is more than 1 way to skin a cow.

It's moolarious ?
