People may consider normal that there is a delay....after all the Phuket cops,  with their colleagues are in the "How to be a good detective and deal with farangs", course !!!!!

So what was the cause this time, brake failure... You would think when conveying people that you would take a bit of care? Do myanmar people not count for this, they always seem to count when investigations require a few suspects it seems

Probably a case of onto bypass and full chat then oops! nearly hit that, quick steering input and flip the pickup - Brake failure

RIP to the poor worker who has died and hope the other poor unfortunate workers are ok/recover alrite

Meanwhile back on the beaches...

Isn't the a wearing seat belt law in this country ?
At last I got fined once for not having buckled up...

Seems if you don't like wearing a seatbelt then you can sit in the tray of the pickup and be sure of injury or death in the event of an accident (where there can be no enforcement of wearing a seat belt).

Go figure!

You are farang, therefore fair game.

I bet if there some envelopes given  investigation would pick up in hurry. But these workers are from Mayanmar  have no money so they are not important  Soon to be forgotten about  Plenty more from where they came from Driver has nothing to worry about  even though he was speeding and driving dangerously  Minor detail

Maybe I should have padded that comment out a bit more e.g. What's the point of enforcing seat belts when loads of people are allowed to travel in a pick up tray? Not smart from a road safety perspective, but a money earner I guess.

The 'you' in my original comment line wasn't meaning you, Deli.

Burmese are carried around like cattle. It's is disgusting to see how Thais treat foreigners, and have no respect for them whatsoever.

To be honest plenty of Thai workers are also carried about like cattle.  Just a fact of Thai working life.

And sitting in the back tray of a pickup is also illegal.

If all the internet detectives can figure it out by looking at the footage prior to the crash the real cops could as well if they wanted to, but they don't- it's Burmese and they couldn't give a toss. No way the roads will ever be cleaned up with the cops refusing to get their act together.

This goes on all over the country every day. It's a farkin disgrace and a national embarrassment.

As reported......... SO WHY ARE THE POLICE DRAGGING THEIR HEELS ON THIS...................................COME ON POLICE ANSWER TO YOUR PUBLIC?

And pigs will fly, steam rollers will roll steam and hens have teeth! Guess what? The Police answer only to themselves.

It seems that even the 'democratic soldier' is unable to bring about any real change to the culture of the RTP. Plenty of talk (beloved of the elite) but little action.

Corruption and incompetence should answer your question.

There are 3 types of law here. One for the rich elite which is pretty much nonexistent as it is a pay-to-win/avoid situation, one for the rest of Thai society which basically means those without enough money and the only reason they really have prisons here (for the poor), and one for foreigners which is anal, severe and fascist because they don't really want us here anyhow. Nuff said.
