No pleasure sensation from oral sex, Circumcision to blame?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I'm a young male in my 20s, recently I experienced oral sex from a female and I felt nothing in terms of pleasure or sensitivity, I got circumcised as an adult around 4 years ago, is this the reason? Or is there something else going on?

Unprotected sex with her feels good still, sex with condom feels decent but I feel nothing from oral and even masturbating isn't that pleasurable as it used to be..

If any circumcised guys are on here can you relate to this?

Most cut men are cut early so don't know the difference.

So what you're feeling or not feeling is your current situation.

It's not about anyone else. It's about you.

My practical suggestion is to ask your partner  (or yourself) to stimulate you in other erogenous zones than the phallus.

Couldn’t you have loosened it a bit?

Sorry I forgot to mention I got some kind of fungal infection too and I went to dermatologists and tried creams and nothing was working so that including the tight foreskin made me decide to get circumcised.

OP - Dare I suggest that your problem is mostly in your mind, as are all your many health problems.

I don't want to be unkind, but have you tried a psychiatrist or hypnotherapist?

You had a complete circumcision for a 'tight' foreskin! Have you considered that this may have been an unnecessary procedure that was done just to satisfy a need for attention?

Looking at your posting history it's hard to believe that any young man could have so many problems and ailments. Could it be that you are suffering from hypochondria or Munchausen's syndrome?

I wish you all the best and hope that you can get yourself mended.

On a purely medical point of view and for sole purpose of research, have you endulged in a array of sampling oral sex with an enlargened number of different partners ?!!..

Perhaps the problem is not in you but some sort of oral incompatibility with your respected partner, if I may....:wai:

I understand some people might think I'm lying or attention seeking or it's all in my head but I've honestly had a a lot of bad luck in a short amount of time, I can't prove it on here I guess

I really do have a pelvic issue, i discovered a type of lunge stretch that helps reduce symptoms but symptoms come back and it still sucks to live with, I got Tinnitus in Vietnam after full body massage treatment for my pelvic problem that was recommended by a friend I'd made at a vegan restaurant, yes I over done it on some posts and made too many posts on the matter but I was stressed and desperate for answers.

I'm sure it's a common problem many circumcised guys have so why would I be pretending or its all in my head? I'm just a unlucky guy but believe what you want to believe.

Not really, but I've never had a relationship before so I've masturbated a lot, maybe tight grip with the hand is the cause...

Seriously - I am not trying to belittle you - but, have you considered that many of your symptoms could be psychological?

After all it's not just pelvic problems: You did not have bladder cancer; your girlfriend wasn't pregnant; your big toe healed ok; etc., etc. ...

If you are in the UK I respectfully suggest that you discuss everthing with your GP who can refer you to a specialist.

Or two ...

The OP's story makes sense to me. If you were used to focusing pleasure from your foreskin and then it got cut out, you wouldn't have the pleasure adaptations that males cut from before puberty would have developed without even thinking about it.

Except that the circumcision was four years ago, and this issue is being raised just now.

Certainly it has nothing to do with the circumcision.

While other posters did nto phrase it as compassionately as they could have, I do have to agree that OP appears to have psychological issues  - probably an anxiety disorder - and that it would be more productive to seek treatment for that  than to continue focusing on /seeking treatment for one set of symptoms after another.

OP - google Somatization Disorder.

Well, of course you might indeed be right and you are the medical professional here, but I think the reason you gave for doubting the relation to circumcision isn't entirely logical

Yes four years ago but based on my reading of his case he wasn't feeling anything from masturbation for a long time which could be read as SINCE the circumcision, or maybe not, but it's not entirely clear, is it? His experience with oral sex at all sounds recent. So I don't understand how you can rule out the circumcision being the root of this based on just his case report as he wrote it.

If you read his many other threads he has been extremely active sexually these past few years. And has a pattern of health worries/fears about his health.

Masturbation felt good until recently, ever since I got circumcised oral sex has been average, but Last week it was the worst I've ever experienced, absolutely no pleasure or sensation, and trust me this girl was good at giving oral.

Masturbation has always felt good because I am in control, for example tight grip etc but last weekend I had to try new techniques to feel some pleasure.

I personally believe I've masturbated with a tight grip so many times that my penis has become desensitised to something like oral, but that's just my guess, I was in Thailand in June/July and things felt like normal (for a cut guy) so this is a thing I've noticed just last week.

OK, fine, I didn't have that context.

Maybe I'm just a hypochondriac? Like many normal people are
But I agree that I have some kind of mental illness, I just don't know what it is, maybe you can help, I like to be alone (mainly in England) , when in thailand or other countries I like to be more social, I'm not a family man, I don't make eye contact much when talking to family, I get addicted to certain things easily, I have suicidal thoughts almost everyday, most likely because of my pelvic discomfort and the fact I don't know what to do with my life, but I remember having suicidal thoughts when I was younger, I have fantasies about being homeless in Thailand, it could actually happen next year after leave my job.

Clearly something is wrong with me mentally but I'm doubtful it's the cause for my pelvic issues and tinnitus etc. After all I did really have a bad bicycle fall not long before the pelvic issue started.

It is not the cause of whatever your actual pelvic issue is (sounds musculo-skeletal) but it is the cause for your being convinced that it was an STD despite being told, in STD clinics, that it was not, then your conviction it was bladder cancer etc etc.

The term "hypochondriac" is obsolete, the correct medical term is that you are suffering from (among other things) what is called a Somatic Symptom Disorder (previously called Somatization Disorder), which is a type of anxiety disorder with obsessive-compulsive elements.

"Somatic symptom disorder involves having a significant focus on physical symptoms — such as pain or fatigue — to the point that it causes major emotional distress and problems functioning. You may or may not have another diagnosed medical condition associated with these symptoms.

Excessive thoughts, feelings and behaviors in response to physical symptoms may lead to frequent doctor visits. You often think the worst about your symptoms and continue to search for an explanation, even when other serious conditions have been excluded. Health concerns may become such a central focus of your life that it's hard to function....whatever your symptoms, you have excessive thoughts, feelings or behaviors related to those symptoms....

Excessive thoughts, feelings and behaviors can include:

  • Having a high level of worry about potential illness
  • Considering normal physical sensations as a sign of severe physical illness
  • Fearing the medical seriousness of symptoms, even when there is no evidence to support that concern
  • Appraising physical sensations as threatening, harmful or causing problems
  • Feeling that medical evaluation and treatment have not been adequate
  • Fearing that physical activity may cause damage to your body
  • Repeatedly checking your body for abnormalities
  • Frequent health care visits that don't relieve your concerns or that make them worse
  • Being unresponsive to medical treatment or unusually sensitive to medication side effects
  • Having a more severe impairment than would usually be expected related to a medical condition

For somatic symptom disorder, more important than the specific physical symptoms you experience is the way you interpret and react to the symptoms and how they impact your daily life."

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/somatic-symptom-disorder/basics/symptoms/con-20124065

For this problem alone, mental health treatment is warranted. Add to this that you now say you are suicidal, and it is urgent.

As for not having experienced pleasure during a  specific sexual encounter this is neither uncommon nor an indication of illness. The most important sexual organ is, actually, the brain. For whatever reason, your mind did not let it be pleasurable. You do seem to engage in sex in a rather compulsive manner and may be seeking to get from it,things that simply are not to be found that way.

Can you get this mental illness or any other mental illness through head trauma? I did land on my head hard when I flipped off my bicycle going down hill on a rocky stone road, I was wearing a helmet but it cracked open and I was very dizzy after the impact, or maybe it came from childhood or I was born with it, I don't know but I'm not normal mentally so I'm curious how I became like this.

From one head to the other!, if it wasn't for bad luck, you'd have no luck at all.

Ok hands up, I'm circumcised and i really enjoy blow jobs but it does vary with the girl plus how turned on i am changes all the time, its not a straight line. My recommendation is don't rush it trying to cum but take longer, up to 30 mins cha cha if you can take that long. If it feels average don't worry about it, it might feel great next year be patient.
