Hernia opp with complications

I will need to get an Hernia Operation as the 2nd one I had has failed....(split open) as did the first one.

I do not want to do where I reside (Udon Thani) probable look for a specialist in BKK

But would also like to get an opinion from khon kaen specialist if someone can recommend "a Specialist"

not just a surgeon who does Hernia's

There is no such thing as a hernia specialist as hernias fall squarely into the category of general surgery.

 

However you can certainly consult a more expert, senior surgeon.

 

Go to KKU Hospital (Srinagarind) after hours clinic and ask to meet an acharn in the surgical dept.

 

Are you overweight? As that is a big risk factor for hernia recurrence. In fact if very obese it may be necessary to correct that before an hernia repair can reaosnably be expected to last.

Thanks for you for answering Sheryl--no not over weight, but I feel that I may have contributed to it by exercising to much, not to soon I took 4 months out for the last one. The last surgeon commented that he didn't expect that I would be lifting weights etc, but it is part of my life.

Anyway I was PM from a kind with the name Dr BoonChu in Bangkok also. I will talk with the KK Surgeon.

Be sure to ask specifically abut when you can resume weight lifting next time. 

 

That said, the usual advice is to wait 3 months so 4 should have been OK...
