bicycle customs fee

im thinking about buying a bicycle and traveling around to various countries to Thailand. i wonder if each time i enter Thailand  a airport customs will charge me the import fee???????  i once brought some rugs from india to Thailand (staying here for a few days) and they charged me import fee for that. ...........if i have 3 bags upon entering kingdom i of course will have to put my stuff thru the scanner.........and will they charge me fee for bicycle each time. to bring in to kingdom

My friends and I have hand carried MTBs into Thailand from Singapore many times for club and Bike Hash rides, never paid duty.

Tell customs you are on a bicycle touring holiday, they can tell if a bike has been used vs a new one.
