nausea Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Gruesome. The main article says the poor guy was stuck on those railings for over an hour. He paid a heavy price for a momentary lapse of judgement. Hopefully, some good might come out of this tragedy - it might prove a lesson to others; you won't catch me jumping any balconies for a while that's for sure, sober or not.
MyFriend You Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 RIP to the man who died needlessly, obviously it wasn't his time as with a little foresight he never would have been in his predicament - I have a magnetic key holder that I attach to a place only I know in my bldg with an extra key to my door. I bought it for 60 baht in the auto section of Big C, it attaches to anything steel. Its not marked so if it is found (unlikely) it is useless. Only had to use it once when I thought I lost my key, only to find it when I emptied my Jacket pocket.

Sounds more like alcohol impaired judgment; but alcohol is legal and worshiped by a lot of clowns, while marijuana is illegal and doesn't even come CLOSE to killing the number of people alcohol does. Sick, upside down world.
Here It Is Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 There is no doubt that the rescue services were extremely professional. They tried their absolute best to extricate the poor guy at the earliest and get him to hospital. I did so many crazy things when I was younger and really shouldn't be here. Looking back it was obviously not my time but I was only ever a slip away from my demise. That's how it works.

BradWilkins Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 (edited) The neighbour must be feeling guilty for letting him try to climb across from their balcony. At 4am hope he was full of vodka and not feeling much when it happened. RIP Edited December 2, 2017 by BradWilkins
chicowoodduck Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Not a good way to go.....might have been drunk.....common sense flies out the window...RIP...?????

A young bloke in a town near me locked himself out. Came home drunk, punched the glass window in the back door to get to the door handle. Cut an artery in his arm. Found the next day..... Bled to death. Darwinism is undeniable.
Stargeezr Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 (edited) RIP to this Russian. Getting to drunk in a Foreign country is dangerous. Making a stupid decision while drunk is even more dangerous. I guess that is why I stay either with Family, friends or in hotels. Geezer Edited December 3, 2017 by Stargrazer9889 error
Sig Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Even a little common sense after thought could do the same.... It's called a locksmith.

I had been there after a motorbike accident and it's not the place people wanna be after a serious injury, believe me. RIP, Nastrovia What would you recommend as the best emergency room or trauma hospital if one had a choice? Especially late or after hours, a weekend, staff on hand at off hours, etc

I knew this comment would come from someone shortsighted soon enough and here you are. I keep an extra truck key in a magnetic box behind the bumper. So I would have to loose my keys and have my truck stolen the same day to prevent me from getting into my house IF I lived alone and the wife also lost her keys the same day.

But that begs the question, you would think the rescue workers knew that too. But maybe just didn't have a way to get him to the hospital with the spikes still in (lack of tools for that)? In this case, perhaps there was no way he could have been saved. Well if emergency crew knew what you claim is fairly common knowledge and were not in possession of a or did not have access to a rescue saw then there should be liability of the person responsible for outfitting these crews.

I'm not a medical person but I think it would make a difference where the wound is, how many, how big, etc. I wouldn't presume to judge what they did even if they had tools.

Or your wife was out in the truck? Actually I am longsighted.... Fair enough, but it would not work for me as the truck is inside my fence, and perhaps I shouldn't risk the spikes on it. I too have the Mrs there for such incidents. Perhaps a numerical keypad is the best solution. Edited December 3, 2017 by jacko45k
smudger1951 Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Metal spikes on gates and broken glass set into the top of walls is just so lethal. Surely there are better ways to deter unwanted visitors.

Lack of tools doesn't come into it.

cyberfarang Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Horrible watching that video. The man must have been in extreme agony, not only from blood loss but probably also died from shock. Once the man was lifted to the ground, have no idea if there were any paramedics or doctors on hand? Although it seems the emergency services done their best, whether his chances of survival would had been better in Russia we don`t know for sure. Very tragic that sadden me.

Bigfarang1948 Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Bad decision and a horrible excruciatingly painful way to die It is disgusting to me that graphic video like this is allowed in Thailand, or in any other country, why put someone who is screaming in pain on any news feed. Just as disgusting is the ghouls standing by watching this man in his death agony. I guess gore fascinates us all, if it is not one of our friends or family suffering.

I agree so much about that video. That shouldn't be published. Perhaps as it exists it should be available to family if they choose to see it.
