Currently on EOS as a parent which has recently been extended a further two months and expires 20th Feb, 18.

Had some unexpected news which means I need to be back in UK mid January for a month at least.

Can I request another EOS and if so can London issue this providing I take the required proofs?

Extensions of stay can only be applied for at Immigration in Thailand.

You might be able to get a Non Imm O Visa in London.

Non-Immigrant Type O

  • Birth Certificate (applicant's child)
  • A copy of marriage certificate and a copy of Thai passport or a copy of Thai ID card (if married to Thai national)
  • A copy of marriage certificate,a copy of Thai passport/a copy of Thai ID of spouse and (3 months bank statement showing monthly income of more than £1,400 annually.)
  • An official recommendation letter from organization perform voluntary job in Thailand (for volunteer job)
  • Pension statement if the applicant is a pension earner.
  • Thanks 1

Sorry I have this mixed up.

Non O visa - parent. which was extended a further 60 days.

Can I get the same non O as a parent again in London?  These non O are they not limited to one application a year or anything like that?

No limits.

Seems weird there is no limits on it. I honestly thought it would be limited and force the issue of extension of stay as parent for 1 year.

Thanks for prompt answer.

If you wish, you may even be able to get a multiple entry Non O. Worth asking them if this would be useful.

Thanks Tim, so am I right to think if I got a 1 year EOS as a parent I cannot leave and re-enter on same EOS?

If you are on an extension of stay, you will need a re-entry permit if you wish to leave and re-enter Thailand while keeping it intact.

Whether a multiple entry Non O, or an extension, will best fit your needs depends on your situation. If you rarely want to stay more than 90-150 days at a time, the multiple entry Non O may be more convenient. For those living in Thailand, and rarely leaving, the extension of stay is probably preferable.

You cannot get another 60 day extension as they are limited to one per stay. You could apply for a 1 year extension, but you'd need to be in the country for at least one month after applying whilst the application is under consideration.

Extensions are only issued in Thailand. All you could get in London is a new non-immigrant visa.

Hi elvajero. Sorry my terms are rubbish and I have misled by using incorrect terms.

My understanding is:

Whilst in London I can get another non O entitling me to stay for 3 months and for that new non O I can get a further 60 days extension.

Sound correct?

I was aiming for the 1 year EOS but I'm not married and I'm therefore not legally a parent in thai law and getting that done would entail having to go back to the city where child is blue book registered to legitimize my status as a parent.

He's 9 months old, we just moved last month and the city of birth where he is registered are light years behind where we are now for helpful upto scratch services. Were gonna relax and get acquainted with KK for a few months when I'm back and then face this task.

Yes, correct.
