Does it really matter what it looks like? Just wish they had something smaller that doesn't take a whole page. Just back from West Africa, re entry permits and visas from 3 countries and 6 pages gone in the passport, phew!

Why do Thai and Laos have to use a full page in the passport

There are plenty of reports of immigration officials failing to spot it (giving only a 30-day visa exempt entry) even with it being full page size. This can cause some grief if the traveler fails to notice and ask for a correction on the spot. I guess such errors would become even more pervasive if the visa sticker was smaller.

A bright coloured quarter page one would be sufficient, especially for a U turn visa run Laos.Same O visa Thai Consulate,  no need to be filling passports up quickly--ex--10 year UK one full page last approx 5 years.
