Is this crossing now open again for Visa exempt crossings? (30 day) I am in a discussion with people who are being told by a "visa run" company that it is?

The correct name for the crossing is Ban Phu Nam Ron.

As far as I know you still must have valid Thai visa for re-entry to the country to do a crossing there.

Any chance that they are confusing it with a crossing to Cambodia with a similar name.

No Joe it's Kanchanaburi, it's myself that spelt it wrong in the OP

They are swearing blind that they are being told by a Visa Run company that it's now possible to get 30 day exempts again there

I to have told them I have read no recent reports

Has it ever been possible?

It would be interesting to know the name of the visa run company, and whether they were doing runs to the border there. If it is possible, I think visa run companies would find it preferable to the trip to Ban Pakard.

That would be a turn around in policy. The cost for a border hop for a multiple-entry visa holder was 930 Baht or thereabouts from the Thai border. What are the visa run firm quoting? And from where?

Yes up until around 2 years ago

The company is

https://www.facebook.com/visarunkanchanaburi.service/

They are advertising 30 days stamps, the people I am talking to, well arguing with are being told and being told right now by PM that 30 day exempts are possible

I have pointed out that the stamps being shown are Non O, Tourist etc but they still insist they are being told directly that VE are possible

Looked at their page and the passport pics are of visa entries. No mention of the visa exempt runs.

Thaivisaservice were planning to start to use this border until they suddenly stopped issuing VE

Exactly what I said however it does state some Fillipinos getting 30 days there and also some Europeans and again they are being told by PM VE are possible

A strange lack of photos for the VE entry's though

Actually, the post from 16 November strongly suggests they were able to get 30-day visa exempt entries for a bunch of Philippine passport holders. If they are verbally saying they can do it, I would be inclined to believe them.

I saw that and am inclined to believe them however they are keen to show photos of Non O, Tourist Visas etc but none of any actual 30 day entry stamps

Well it seems you can, I have just messaged  the owner of the above company, I actually used him for a trip to the Kanchanaburi border a few years ago, he replied saying it is possible but only twice a year which of course ties in with the rules

He is going to call me later so I will confirm with what he says
