Thalang police received a report about a dead body found in a drain on Thepkasattri Road in Thalang heading towards Phuket Town last night (December 9).

At the scene, police found a large crowd crowded around a drain with a strong smell coming from it. After opening it up, police found a decayed male body without his head. The man was wearing a T-shirt and long jeans. On his left arm there was green and red wristbands with a tattoo. But, there was no identification documents to help police with an ID. Police have sent the body to Thalang Hospital for an autopsy.

After investigation 35 year old Mongkol Kongsaeng from the Chiang Rai province, who found the body, said that he was buying food nearby and realised that his car key was missing. He thought that the key might have dropped into the drain and used his mobile phone flashlight to see inside the drain along the way and was shocked by the dead body lying in the pit.

OMG! If it's not massive pythons it's a headless body :shock1:

Lets hope they catch whoever was responsible for this terrible crime quickly. It's worrying to think that there's someone so sick wandering around out there!

Has suicide been ruled out yet or is it to early in the investigation.

It was the Python... Case closed...

Headless bodies in LOS all the time....

Do the Thais think they can hide the identity by cutting of the head...

They have now found the head (skull) hanging from a tree further up the water course.

They are calling it suicide and have decided the heavy rains a couple of days ago separated the body from the head,

Over to the amateur sleuths.

I believe that it may have been possible to identify him by his hat, so.....off with his head!

Suicide? What did he do with his head lol

"Police haven’t yet located the head of the deceased man and are now treating the incident as a homicide."

Brilliant bit of deduction by the BiB!  It's good to see that they can rally some brain cells when needed.

Assuming that they have now found the head, as reported above by Old Croc, suicide is a bit far-fetched, unless they are making a sci-fi movie.
