Oxx
It appears that Bermuda, which started to allow gay marriage earlier this year, is reverting to narrow-minded, religious dogmatism and wants to re-ban it. http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2017/11/03/bermuda-is-trying-to-ban-same-sex-marriage-again-months-after-first-weddings/ Two steps forward, one step back. Of course, when will Thailand allow gay marriage, or even allow foreign embassies to marry/civil partnership same sex people? It's not as if the country has the burden of Christian or Islamic bigotry.
Jingthing
It's very true that winning civil rights is not the end of the story. Gains can ALWAYS be reversed. In the U.S. now, right wingers now are attacking the now legal marriage equality with the specious argument of religious liberty. A while back I read a prediction that based on the way anti-gay trump is packing the courts with young radically anti-gay civil rights right wing judges, that marriage equality will eventually be reversed within decades. That's their clear goal.

It's not as if the country has the burden of Christian or Islamic bigotry. Christian or Islamic bigotry? There are a great many nations that are neither Islamic nor Christian that do not embrace homosexuality. I believe China has quite a large population but is not actually Gay friendly. In fact, it would appear christian nations are the most accepting of gay marriage despite your claims of bigotry. Countries That Allow Gay Marriage Argentina (2010) Greenland (2015) South Africa (2006) Australia (2017)Iceland (2010) Spain (2005) Belgium (2003) Ireland (2015) United States (2015) Brazil (2013) Luxembourg (2014) Sweden (2009) Canada (2005) Malta (2017) Colombia (2016) Uruguay (2013) Denmark (2012) The Netherlands (2000) England / Wales (2013) New Zealand (2013) Finland (2015 )Norway (2008) France (2013) Portugal (2010) Germany (2017) http://www.pewforum.org/2017/08/08/gay-marriage-around-the-world
