A REAL POTY FOR DAVE2

Lets please all get together and do a few things;

 

1. Try and get dave2 his full POTY title - not an "Honorary" discredited bobble given away by the TV hierarchy.  Dave2 deserves the FULL accolade as he would have if he is allowed to go forward and hopefully win the full vote in an open and fair contest.  Not some "pat off" comment to keep us in CM quite.

 

2.  If dave2 is excluded from the results of the Pool2 vote then that vote MUST be rerun.   It is Null and Void under any form of democratic voting rules.  Even Mugabe, Hussain and Gadhafi  would not have tried to do this to their electorate.

 

3. evensteves etc need a 2nd gallop so WE who voted for dave2 under false pretences can recast our vote for what should now be a more meaningful (but less deserving) contender. (no offence to any other contenders, I obviously as stated earlier do NOT want any votes).

 

4. Find out why this fiasco of dave2 being denied his possible award ever happened.

I think some of the old ladies might find that difficult. Ranting and raving on subjects that don’t concern them or they know nothing about appears to be their main (only) goal in life.

Perhaps Dave2 has left a secret letter with some explosive information  related to TV that is only to be opened should he posthumously win the coveted POTY trophy.

 

Certain shady characters are trying to ensure that the information is prevented from being released by ensuring that cannot happen?

I did at least think he would have made a steward's enquiry over a non runner and off site betting irregularities!

Yeah, E/S you were done an injustice in Dave2's voters would like to recast their votes for a living Chiang Mai representative, i.e. YOU.  Everyone in Poll 2 should be complaining about how they were up against a favored dead man only to have that dead man declared invalid to run.  Well then, the contest should have been re-run.  The Poll 1 candidates didn't have such a handicap.

 

I suspect this post may be deleted as a "discussion of moderation", which is a problem when you have the mods running the contest instead of a member like we've had in previous years.  Somehow JT and other members managed to keep all the grumbling under control without resorting to <delete> when they ran the contests.

38 votes that were conveniently lost, 38% of all those that had been cast up to yesterday! The whole thing has been a mess up from the start. Would love to see the various pm's that were flying around when it was realized that Dave2 was going to walk it and the poty contenders club were having nightmares of a bit of ruined Xmas fun! Anonymous, where are you?

I can;t explain why the phrase "real POTY" seems like an oxymoron to me, but, whatever it is, I certainly think Khun Dave, All-Seeing Lord of Places and Views, A River of Photos Unto His People, the Second of His Name, deserves all the honor we can bestow.

 

I hope you will not find it in any way disrespectful of the late Khun Dave's generous gifts of time and ... always positive ... energy to this Forum .. if I dare say that many people who post on these forums are partially, or fully, dead  ...

It would appear long established members who consider the POTY competition akin to an Olympic gold have conveniently ignored all the cock ups and ploughed on regardless. I find it more than a little sad for that and for the eventual "winner" who is really not going to be that in the minds of most.
