PHUKET: Traffic Police stationed at Chalong Police Station have today confirmed that the southbound side of Chao Fa West Rd will be reduced to just one lane until December 28 as road-widening works are carried out.

Cough cough until December 28?

Which year?

Considering that the road between the construction area and the Chalong Hospital is already only one lane, making the last 100m also one lane isn't going to change much.

But somehow the cars will still be 2 or 3 abreast with <deleted> trying to push in as per.

Seems to me it's been one lane for the last many months. Not sure what;s the change ?

If the one lane only starts earlier, the shortcut to Patak road might be blocked.

In that last 100m, traffic, sort of, divided itself into those going straight on to Visit and those turning right for Patak. This gave opportunity for the two lanes to round the circle together.

Making it just one lane will slow it down considerably. IMO.

Looking at the map I think you're right. Probably the road near Supercheap as well.

Aaaarghhh

Had to go into Phuket town today about 13.00 today. Chao Fa West just so so busy all the way into town. Traffic on Patak back up from circle to rat run turn off. Every traffic light had traffic well backed up.

These days I come back on Chao Fa East. I see lots of traffic making the cross over to the East road.

No ... that short cut road is not blocked. Trouble is that traffic is backed up well before the short cut.

Only six more days and everything will be back to normal

Traffic disaster all roads from/to Chalong Circle. Thought I would nip out at 14.30 to buy some items at HomePro. WOW ... traffic on Patak backed up to past the Shell station, almost to Green Man. God knows what it was like on the other side of the circle.

One lane exiting Patak Road as there are trucks parked in the other, again work being done on the electricity poles. Traffic from Chaofa West pretty bad but there are two lanes operating into Chalong Circle, sort of, as there's a cordoned-off ditch in between these lanes. The police, as usual, aren't exactly helping matters.
