6. A female should not tend plants during her period, as the plants will die.

7. Do not whistle at night.

(So why aren't all the hairdressers closed on Wednesdays?)

9. Leaving your pestle in the mortor will bring pain in child birth

10. After a bad dream when you take a dump you should ask your excretement to go peacefully before flushing so the poo spriit (pii kee) can take away any bad luck (I love this one!).

11. Itchy palms mean money is coming

12. Itchy backside means rain is coming

13. An involuntary wobbly left eyebrow muscle means good luck and an involuntary wobbly right eyebrow means bad luck

14. Before you wear a new pair for shoes bite them first so they won’t give you blisters.

(the last four I believe are Thai superstitions but Khmer people also follow them)

1. A couple of nights ago, whilst my wife and I were away from home on a trip, my wife had a dream in which her teeth fell out. The next morning, she told me about the dream and said we must be careful, as someone in the family was going to have an accident. Later that day, her daughter phoned - she had been pushed over at school and one tooth was broken and fell out.

When my wife firdt came to England twelve years ago she had a dream her teeth fell out, she told me someone was going to die and got very worried, three days later we got a telegram that her brother had died in a motorbike accident turns out the same day she had the dream.

We went to visit her parents one year the day before we left we were sitting outside and a dog came up and pee'd on her leg, her father said it was bad luck and to go see the Buddha she said not to be stupid, next day we went to Pattaya and on the evening she was rushed to hospital for an emergency operation.

I don't believe in these things but I don't ignore them totally (just to be on the safe side)
