From 2017 to 2018

Featured Replies

As far as we are concerned, we foreign residents in Thailand, next year should bring answers to 2 major questions:

1. Until when the next Thai election will be post-post-post-postponed?

2. Will the Korean war finally resume?

A major conflict in Korea would bring tourism in Thailand to an immediate standstill, especially when it comes to high quality Chinese tourists.

As residents, we could then enjoy rooms in empty 5 star hotels for 1,500 baht per night, heavily discounted flights and other benefits.

On top of that, we wouldn't be concerned by the radiation fallout, since dominant winds would push the radioactive clouds towards the US West coast...the toxic part of the conflict would thus remain contained between the two warrior nations...ain't that beautiful?

Regarding 2017, I would like to thank everybody involved in keeping this forum going, with special mention to Ubonjoe on whom we can always rely when things get serious, to Naam, his Bentley and his humor, and to Swissie who offered me a (virtual) cigar for a previous post.

Happy new year and get ready for more surprises thanks to the "wise" men who rule the world...
