A young dog named Tang made headlines in local media today after he bravely fought off a python to protect a dozen cats at his home in rural Ang Thong province, according to his owner.

Tang’s owner, only identified as 38-year-old Panisara, said that Tang, 3, barked and circled around the back of her home this morning, so she came out to check on the dog.

When looking closely, she saw that Tang was barking at a five-meter-long python hidden in a tree, and Tang’s face had a few long wounds, which she assumed resulted from the dog fighting with the snake.

A brave dog ! But doesn't that make the cats stupid for letting the snake catch them ?

The usual type of story that "wowed" everyone on social media...facepalm.

Dogs are amazing creatures.   Such good souls.

Now that would take some hiding.

No matter how hard I look I just can't see it. Please tell me there is one there

Spot the python here, it's a bit easier.

Yeah sorry, the top of the tree where the snake might be hiding was to high up to fit in the pic.

Or maybe he is hiding behind the tree and the tree is wider than 5 metres?

I really doubt if the dog had the safety of the cats in mind when barking and messing with the python. Our dog has had contretemps with some snakes in our yard and absolutely hates cats, evidenced by ongoing attempts to kill them.

Easy. Lurking in the pants of the only guy in the picture wearing trousers.

Not really. I had trouble spotting a 1m python in a small bush until the third time I walked past it.

I disagree, they are dirty, smelly disgusting animals. People's homes stink of them and have hair all over the place, at least cat bury their shit, dogs are more likely to eat it. They lick their balls and other dog's ass holes then lick people's faces, yuk

They deter thieves, snakes and teach children how to play nicely.   Cats are great too.
