"Quick phone the Daily Mirror! - there's sex going on in Pattaya"

A video posted online showed a raid at a popular "gentlemen's club" in a seedy side street in Pattaya.

The footage may be of interest to foreign media hungry for news about the resort's attractions following the UK's Daily Mirror 'expose' earlier in the week about sexual goings on in Pattaya.

Though the date could not be confirmed the video showed soldiers and protection agencies arriving at the Club 4 in several unmarked cars.

There are many bar girls servicing customers but the foreigners themselves seem resigned and unworried by the raid. They just carry on drinking.

The club is known to have been raided before.

One girl is filmed still putting on her underwear as the authorities arrive.

Lao Khao is seen on an outside table and short time rooms are available upstairs.

The license on the wall is examined and the ladies are tested for drugs with a cup of urine visible on a table.

A man explains at the end that evidence of drug taking was not found though it was claimed that alcohol was being illegally sold.

An online site says about the club:

"Pattaya is a host to tucked away locations such as Club 4. They are great for getting away from the hustle and bustle of City life, and a really great way of sitting back and relaxing. The Club operates a “closed door” policy, in other words, you ring the bell and as if by magic, a beautiful girl appears to greet you."

The club is in Soi Bongkot also known as "Soi Full Love".

Earlier in the Week the Daily Mirror - one of Britain's biggest newspapers - published a story saying the resort had a seedy image and was more than just "crystal clear blue waters".

Very little if any of the Mirror's words will have been "news" to those who know Pattaya, Thaivisa notes.

The raid was posted on the page of YouShareHotNews but no date was given.

I hope they are family sized rooms in the family resort!

Yes yes yes .. And not to be outdone the Currant Bun ( Sun ) has cast Pattaya its own inimitable style ..

But they ( tabloids ) never report the other aspects of Patt' life .. You rarely read headlines such as Pattaya's pavement pothole shame or bar girl admits to working in bar longer than one month .. And they never report anything about Chinese having a pony on the pavement .. So c'mon Brit' tabloids the " Pattaya ' 21st Century Soddom & Gomorrah on steroids " headlines are the easy ones , let's have a bit more on the real issues of life in the " infamous vice haven " ..

"...crystal clear blue waters" my arse. The Mirror is a little late reporting on this one...been like this for decades. If anything they just did a better job for the tourism industry than TAT could ever do.

Looking through the Pattaya section on here there is rarely if ever a positive story, so you can't point the finger at UK papers. It all seems to be thefts, jumpers, accidents, scams, rip offs and bent coppers. The 'club' of course in the story is a brothel.

A week ago the author of the "Sex in Pattaya" article in the Daily Mirror was wowing the world with ideas on how to cut down on plastic use around the house.  Nice bump up in her journalistic interest meter.  Google her: Amanda Killelea.

This rather old clip reminds me of my comment at the time.

If Pattaya wants to change it's image of sex for sale in the streets, these out of the way (often impossible to find) Gentleman's clubs should be a positive step!

Easy job for a rookie journalist. 90% of the job was to copy/paste last year's article, updated with a single paragraph pertaining to the British fugitive rapist overstayer they caught up with last week.
