ExpatOilWorker
How long time before the expiration date of the previous marriage extension of stay visa can you apply for renewal of the visa? Usually I have applied 30 days prior to the expiration date, but is it possible to apply 45 or even 60 days ahead of time? Are there any written rules or just general guidelines? Applying at Chang Wattana if that makes a difference.

You have permission to be in the country during the consideration time. Then you go back and get your final permit-of-stay stamp for the extension. The under consideration stamp allows you to stay until your application is approved. The date on the stamp is the report back date it just that it does not end the under consideration period. Nothing happens. You go back after 30 days and get your extension.

You can legally stay in the country until they've granted the new extension. The new extension will start the day after the old one expires regardless of when the application is finally approved. If the application is declined they give 7 days to leave the country.
