January 19, 20188 yr I don't get the second one. If they're going to write with Roman letters, however, they should keep going until the whole "abugida" is replaced.
January 19, 20188 yr Get used to it. Graphic artists are a bane to people learning a new alphabet as any eight year old will testify. You will find outrageous examples of artistic expression on advertising signs as you go on. The 'S' is the usual street sign version of ร.
January 19, 20188 yr I must admit I have come across far more difficult fonts than these. In time you will realise how clear and easy Thai printed fonts are. They are ว รู้ ด ซ (the last one clearly being so soh) Just wait till you get going on handwriting. There's a whole world of discovery waiting for you there.
January 20, 20188 yr The problems disappear the more you know, even with print. Looking for a ‘ซ’word in the dictionary you discover that you are looking in ‘ช’ when you see word that you are familiar with.
January 28, 20188 yr The one on the right (ซ) looks pretty standard to me. As for the rest, see http://font.cadsondemak.com/foundry/sukhumvit-สุขุมวิท-2/ and http://font.cadsondemak.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Sukhumvit.pdf (particularly page 11). It's a pretty common style, and the type samples will show you how to distinguish between ว and อ, ร and ธ, ผ and พ, etc.
