Hard or soft bed?

Featured Replies

Hi

Have you adepted the thai way of sleeping on hard beds (or floor)? Or have you found were to buy soft beds and mattresses?

I am in search for a soft mattress right now here in BKK but can not find.

Anyone found out were to buy that?

Go to the IKEA store at Mega Bangna, where they have a range of all different types and firmnesses of beds/mattresses, and will deliver for an added fee as well.

Any decent bedding shop in Bangkok is going to have both soft and firm mattresses, including the pillow top variety that feel soft.

I do prefer to be hard in bed.

What a boring and predictable response .                                                     To the OP, on theground floor of Homepro on Chaeng Wattana there are a number of mattress outlets.

Maybe look at mattress topper. You can then change a mattress into a softer feeling one and is also easy if you move you can take it with you

^ This.

I picked one up in HomePro because our mattress was rock solid. It has worked a treat.

I think all of the bigger stores that sell mattresses have soft and hard mattresses

So just have a look at Index, Robinson or whatever else is near you.

bought a mattress/bed ensemble from homepro about 5 years ago, european import and expensive but it sure did do the trick...now I always look forward to bedtime...most locally made mattresses are junk, whaddaya expect when most folks sleep on the floor?

ye havta sprawl about on the bed when at the shop and check it out carefully as it's a big investment...the one I bought was perfect, firm but yields just enough...

gotta make sure that ye get some nice all cotton bed linen (lazada and ikea) as the free stuff that they give away with the bed is usually polyester junk...bedroom dark (blackout curtains from lazada and ikea), quiet and cool (AC @24C) and snuggle under that duvet and zzzz....

Hi, yes the sleep is very important and I agree in everything you say.

So IKEA is the way to go then. I thought maybe there are other real bed shops here that have the quality you are talking about above.

Thanks for the answer.

That is the problem, Robinson, Index etc. etc. have not the real nice quality and soft beds.

I bought a 7cm topper from her ... had it cut in half. I have a half on my side so am 7cm higher than MrsJ ... We have this 'kin rubber bed, it's like concrete to me.

If anyone wants the other half of the topper, it's available ... it is half a King Size mattress.

I will probably buy a 180 x 200 topper as well. Thank you everyone for the inputs on this..

I visited IKEA yesterday. They have pads/tops made of Latex as well and also shapeable foam. They felt very comfortable when testing in the shop. I liked the 7 cm top. Has anyone experience about those? And/or compared to the Latex tops from Latex Innovations?

The tops from Latex Innovations have holes for the ventilation. I dont know if IKEA´s have that as well?

I would not survive without my topper pad. When I travel I take it with me as hotel beds almost always like wood, so hard they are.

I have the 7cm topper from Ikea and like it.  Not quite as soft as I thought it would be but excellent support which is probably more important.

When they deliver it, it is wrapped and compressed very tightly.  Takes half a day to fluff itself out.  I frequently turn and reverse mine to keep compression even.

Hi

Thank you very much! Nice to know. I have in the meantime placed an order to Latex innovations for a 7,5 cm topper. We will see how that works out.

I have memory foam mattress and I am completely satisfied
