Many people get caught up in export of physical goods only. There are many types of exports that the USA should be focusing on other than the material kind. Software (including licensing) and services (medical, design, engineering, IT, etc..) are a growing industries with the added benefit of not reducing natural resources and the related pollution due to extraction and processing of these resources. Exporting of software, services and other non-goods are the way forward. Doesn't it make more sense to have some other country destroy their environment and reduce their natural resources? Heck, the USA should be grateful that some other country is willing to carve up vast amounts of their land and subject its people to pollution and illness.

 

It is funny to me that the same people that state it is wrong to regulate companies to stay competitive instead of having a free market are the same people that want to impose tariffs since US companies can't be competitive without them. A little hypocritical.

 

Since the current WH really has no concept of sane economic policies, they will continue to lurch from action to action without any coherent plan. They will follow whatever talking head on Fox News or CNBC tells them is the best current economic action to take. There is no forward thinking here just shoot from the hip and hope for the best. This is what the average Donald follower voted for...a WH that acts first and doesn't bother worrying about the consequences.

Living in a redder than red state, SD, you would actually be surprised by the antipathy, if not downright dislike of Trump

Most people voted on tribal lines, so the Republican could have been a coyote and they would have voted for him. That being said most folks have a respect for the office of President and hate what they see.

I'm a liberal, but actually respect what my two GOP Senators John Thune & Mike Rounds do. I don't necessarily agree with all they do, but fundamentally they are decent guys trying to do their best for the people they represent.

Trump as many who voted for him, at least here in South Dakota, now recognize is a self serving narcissist, who is destroying the office he holds.

Will he serve out his term, probably.

Unless Mueller comes up with criminality the House & the GOP in general will swallow their own self respect and go along like sheep.

My personal feeling is that Mueller will uncover sleeze, which is no shock, but probably not criminality.

Actually I think it's meant to mean Trump Derangement Syndrome, but it is clearly open to interpretation.  So it's a good idea to require posters be clear and use words instead of acronyms.

Well, considering his dismal approval ratings it would be incorrect to call it Trump Derangement Syndrome.   A mental syndrome is something that statistically falls out of the normal range.   It's closer to normal to be unhappy with Trump than it is to be happy with Trump.   The other use may be more accurate, we'll have to wait for Stormy Daniels to comment on that.
