But it okay for Thai's not to return your deposit saying they had spent it then ask for 500 baht for the electric,as happened in my case,i told them to go get ******

hah. Or how about paying for one week rent, and then the sewer backs up in the building and the stench makes room unlivable but the land lady takes off to Bangkok/Cambodia casino for 3 days.  I demanded my money back, and she stopped returning phone calls and text messages.  I had to check into another hotel, and I called the tourist police.  They were very helpful and when they called her she picked up the phone.  She still didn't give me my money back until the next day as she stalled things out.  The TAT guys were cool they.  I tipped them enough for a lunch or a few beers filled out the report on the spot and didn't even have to go to the station.  The smell in the room convinced them of the situation

No, it´s not okey, but instead of insulting the Thai person as you appearently did. You should have showed your contract, the rules regarding it and your reciept of deposit to the concerned authorities or made a complaint of theft. That is what people that think before they act do. Isn´t that what we all want?

I must also give you an A+ for conversational technique. He asked for another 500 baht. You replied with "go get ******". Amazing skills!

Been here long enough to know that this kinda thing has never happened to me and i know why. And i have been late with rent, had disagreements and confrontations but always de escalate them. Never had any problems. But then again I dont live in Pattaya nor am i drinking in bars everynight or Mad Dog anything.

Probably the reality to this story completely different to what has been reported .

Could be that no one wants the Police involved , so just give a story to fob them off .

"Oh it was nothing, no need to investigate or delve any deeper" , kind of thing

You sound like a real fun guy, there was zero chance of getting the money, they even had the front to ask for that months rent as i was moving out, stop waffling on about the authorities as if they could give a stuff, there was never any plan to return the deposit. So what would you have said? "oh yes here's my 500 for the electric, there is a name for people like you it's called 'wimps'

I guess you are meaning that you never thought of getting a reciept for the deposit.

No, "wimp" is not the right name. If your read everything, you can clearly see that it should be "Intelligent and prepared".

Way to go Thailand. Just beat 'em up, that'll magically make that money appear. It's how civilized people solve their problems.

Maybe not, but if it were the norm I bet more of the low lifes would pay on time.

Who said that it was "ok" to do that?

"Thais" in general do not do that, in your case one Thai did.
