webfact
ITD denies rumours Premchai is absconding By The Nation File photo: Wichian (L) and Premchai (R) The legal team of Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited has dismissed reports that its president Premchai Karnasuta was on the run in the wake of a poaching scandal. “No, he has reported to work as usual,” a member of the firm’s legal team said on Wednesday. Premchai was arrested earlier this month for allegedly hunting in a wildlife sanctuary. Wichian Shinwong, who heads the Thung Yai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary – Western Part, also lodged a complaint of animal-cruelty against Premchai. Provincial Police Region 7 deputy commissioner Pol Maj-General Krissana Sapdej revealed on Wednesday that Premchai had already postponed his appointment with investigators once before with a claim that he had important tasks to attend to. Premchai has now been asked to meet investigators on Thursday. “I am not sure whether he will come to the meeting, as his lawyer has not contacted us yet,” Krissana said. darksidedog
I think it highly unlikely he will ever go to prison. I am pretty sure he will hang around and organise a deal where he just pays a fine and gets a suspended sentence. Only in the absence of such a deal are we likely to see him skip town, but skip he almost certainly will if he feels in any danger. And as we have seen all too often, absconding from here does not seem to be too difficult.

Popular Post BigBadGeordie
I doubt very much that he is on the run. Run have you seen the size of him? Perhaps, on the waddle. Or may'be he has the runs, I understand that too much panther penis can cause that problem. webfact
ITD boss Premchai summoned to face a new charge in Kanchanaburi on Thursday By Thai PBS Italian-Thai Development Plc boss Premchai Karnasuta has been summoned to report himself to the police inquiry officers at the Provincial Police Region 7 in Kanchanaburi Feb 22 to face an addition charge of cruelty against animals. Pol Maj-Gen Krisana Sapdet, deputy commissioner of Provincial Police Region 7, said that Mr Premchai had already missed an appointment with the police inquiry officers to acknowledge the charge on Feb 15, claiming that he was busy and could not meet the officers. He warned that if the ITD boss missed the second appointment tomorrow (Thursday), the inquiry officers would report the Thong Pha Phum provincial court about Mr Premchai’s failure to report himself to the police so that the court could judge what measure to be taken in dealing with him. yellowboat
It will come down to probably a fine and mansion arrest for a few months. Jail time would scare the elites to death. They would all flee.
a977
Maybe jail time is what is required to sort out these so called Hi' so's. Any other country in the world you would have the police knocking on your door asking you to accompany them to the police station for questioning, not the other way around, just plain laziness by the police

But I can tell you what will happen, there will be a courtcase against him and even if he gets a prison sentence he will appeal and can stay out of jail, after that case has finished he will appeal again before he even has to worry we are 10 years in the future. Seriously don’t think it will reach the court. He has been summoned twice and have yet to report to the investigators. Some have seen him in Dawei.

Any other country in the world you would have the police knocking on your door asking you to accompany them to the police station for questioning, not the other way around, just plain laziness by the police It doesn't work like that in Thailand. It's all about the 'Face' problem and Status. The Police just cannot turn up and ask a High So to accompany them to the Station as it would mean a Law Suit for sure for 'Loss of Face'. Never mind 'The Truth'; it's always 'Face First' in La La Land and that is one of the main reasons the country will never adequately move forward all the while the Feudal Patronage system remains. His lawyer said he is too busy; same excuse as when he didn't turn up last week. New date of 4th March has been set.
