Videos: "Riddle of the mystery chairs" amuses millions online!

Featured Replies

Millions laughing at chairs so badly made that they collapse when you sit on them tells you a lot about the intelligence level of Thais. Like the daytime comedies they love where the same thing happens several times a day.

5 million + views of the 1st video, according to the screen shot !!

That is why I can't have a proper conversation with most Thais.

Then you should stick to conversing with "most"  westerners who've been enthralled by all the YouTube videos of the hijinks of kittens or footballers taking a hit to the nether region.  Obviously  you would find those viewers to be fascinating conversationalists.

Hope you didn't miss the linked item on Thai Visa about a woman who put toilet rolls next to urinals. That really was an apparent conversation starter for "most of the" readers of the Mirror.

how do you spell curmudgeon?

Your first attempt at that lovely word wins you a pint of malcontent and a sourpuss sandwich.:clap2:

333 Not that funny

They will start wrapping this particular corner with bright pink & green scarves and ask for lottery numbers.

CCTV footage had millions of online Thais in hysterics yesterday as not one but two plastic seats collapsed after being sat on my motorcycle taxi guys.

Yeah, fantastically amazing! Million of Thais laugh hyterically at two chairs falling or collapsing under people??? Maybe time to invent an antidote for that disease.

That made people go "hystercial" with laughter?

"Made in Thailand" printed on the bottom ?

Not sure but the first bloke likely had ' Made in Thailand ' printed on his bottom. Loss of face and loss of bottom.

Wife was in hysterics when she saw it on TV this morning.

I went out and inspected our plastic chairs! --- H & S habits die hard!

You might be better checking-out your wife's sense of humour!

The way the first guy lashed his anger at the broken chair was worth a few chuckles.

Anger is a natural reaction for Thai men. Surprised he didn't pull a  gun and shoot the chair dead.

I was going to pull a comment about Thai humour, but I see that it's already been done to death on this thread.

Needless to say, it's, well, a bit different to ours. You learn to live with it.

Sort of like the British comedies, I'm just not a fan.

All that's missing is the Benny Hill music, a few canned parps and boings, and a clout round the head with a frying pan.

2nd chair looks to have been repaired with sticky tape ?

Note the tape hanging off the broken leg ?

Bald uncle at the bench seat . Like the cat that ate the canary ...

It's happened more than twice in Pattaya!

Oh my Buddha, that same thing has happened to me several times in BKK and beyond.....?

Usually get some plastic shreds up the arse which is not fun.....lol....?
