Yes, in as far as "everyone was impressed". You may not have noticed, they're shiny green plastic, that stick out at the back, and are perched on their bounces like a pea on Ben Nevis. The whole costume, helmet, sunglasses, tight green shirt and trousers, white pistol belt and high laced boots (one even had white boot laces!) made them look like extras from a Village People music video.

It doesn't really matter, you can hear the air hissing out of the balloon already, soon it will be deflated, there will be elections and he will rule the government from behind and let the elected government take the flak for his policies.

Soalbundy,  I think you are basically right: Prayuth and his ilk will not release their grip on the levers of power, even if that grip will, at some unspecified time in the future, be more hidden from daily, directly-in-our-face view (as it is now). He and his nefarious band will operate more from the shadows (appropriate place for a man of his dark mind) - but he will not allow anyone to rob him of his power - as he robbed the entire Thai people of their rightful power and sovereignty. He will not give that up in a hurry.

Historically This would seem to be a chilling initiative if one didn't understand Thailand's inability to stick with any program for more than a week or two. They should bring back the lady that thought Pokemon Go was Thailand's ticket to untapped riches.

She was told that the army was to protect the countries borders and could not get involved in domestic affairs.

Think brainwashing....necessary to complete the control of the minds and bodies of the future drones these people will become. In turn this will be necessary to complete the unelected takeover on a permanent basis and complete the installation of the dictatorship that it appears Thailand is heading toward.
