Same old sub-par back of midfield/same old lack of control over games. The title looks like getting away from us at this rate.

Surely our feted manager can do something different, rather than just plugging away with the Flam/Ramsey failed pairing? February is turning into January

Too many changes, too many returning players, too many fouls on Alexis, a foul on average every three minutes from Soton, only one of which apparently merited a yellow.

Alexis and Ozil were back to form, but no-one else seemed to be on their wavelength.

And a ref who never let the game flow by repeatedly being finicky about throw-ins and free kicks, and blowing for offside when clearly advantage should have been played.

Overall no cohesiveness and didn't take advantage of the chances we created, plus a keeper in top form.

A chance to put it right against another South coast side at the weekend.

I agree about Flamini though. If he's not convinced Le Coq is fit enough yet, he should have played Mo.

Flamini is not a 90 minute player any more, and when he gets the ball he has developed a habit of doing a Ray Wilkins.... sideways or backwards.

Still, it's better than the last time we played them.

What an absolutely crappy result last night......Ozil was wasteful and useless, he is too slow and takes way too many touches in the box, just shoot the damn ball! Sanchez tried hard as usual but no end product today. Theo couldn't hit the side of a barn these days and Flamini has got to go. Rambo's lost his goal-scoring ability and when Giroud is off-form, he stinks the place out. We absolutely must beat Bournemouth on Sunday or we can kiss any hopes of the title goodbye....

They were the only two doing anything useful. (You can excuse Cech, he did his job).

I thought I was a miserable bu$$er but Claude is manic. Seemed to think Coq should be playing a second 90 minutes immediately after returning from injury and like a number of Arsenal fans he seems to get sidetracked by non-issues like the owner taking a paltry income out of his asset. That's not the point - the point is that the owner is clearly purely a financial investor with no real feel for football and no intention of risking the family shekels to compete with the really big clubs of this age. I don't even think that Wenger would be that parsimonious if he had nailed his colours to an owner of a different persuasion.

At the moment it looks more likely that Leicester will steal Arsene's thunder in proving that you can just occasionally pull it off without being a moneybags titan (if you are extremely lucky with injuries and get cut out of distracting lesser competitions early on*)

*not meaning to be as sour grapes as that sounds!

dear spuds, just been out and bought you lot a couple of boxes of tissues for you to share.

one lot for the nose bleeds that must be occurring right now and to clean the mess up after getting a bit too excited after searching for the foreskin that ain't there. the other box for when you obviously kack yourselves later on in the season. biggrin.png

No Le Coq. No Mo.

Flamini and an out of form Oxtail-Chambermaid start.

W T F?

  • Arsenal starting XI: Cech, Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal, Flamini, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ozil, Sanchez, Giroud
  • Arsenal subs: Gibbs, Mertesacker, Ospina, Walcott, Campbell, Coquelin, Iwobi

Quite! Let's enjoy (not) watching a former Arsenal attacker who didn't quite make the grade run rings round our ageing dive-in DMF.

Last chance saloon. Have to win both this and the Leicester game if we have any hope of the title, given Leicester's preformance yesterday.

Regrettably I doubt we will win both!

Lucky to have 11 men on the park though eh.

It evens itself out.

Thats what RedNose used to say. But it really doesn't does it. I presume Wenger didn't see the incident.wink.png

If I had a satang for the number of times yellow and red card offences went unpunished against us, I'd be a millionaire.

One crappy challenge that didn't hurt anyone and you all get excited.

Like I said, it evens itself out.

Ahh, but he did admit to seeing it.

“I didn’t see it like that, honestly,” Wenger said, when Howe’s view was put to him. “I felt, even at the start, it was free-kick for us.blink.png

Maybe he should go back to not seeing thingssmile.png

He just treats the shit-stirring press with the contempt they deserve.

That's a classic that is.

Yeah and Van Gaal is taking the contempt thing to whole new levels. Loving it, the way he handles the hacks with total disdain. Cockroaches the lot of em. Only interested in tittle tattle and very few ask any serious or searching questions. Football journalism is several steps down from celebrity journalism. Recruitment must be from street corners, or those 'fan' websites where twelve year olds trade mindless insults with each other.
