I met a Keith once in Pattaya playing golf who was proper bitter and twisted, ex wife/girlfriend screwed him over, i made sure i never played with him again, a poisonous character. Probably the last person he would blame was himself, maybe he's going back to Perth

I often muse why so many seem to have the need to troll anyone who may express any negative views about Thailand.

It almost feels like the closet Gay who actually goes Gay bashing.

In reality we all know that there are serious issues with Thailand, from driving, censorship, to just general craziness, but you live here, you accept them, but to deny them! Please get real

We left a year ago, although back now for a few months vacation from the snow

Don't hate the place, but the reality of the place does take its toll over a decade or so. I can deal with it for a few months of the year, roll my eyes at some of the more absurd aspects of the place, but crazy, bizarre it certainly is.

I totally relate to the OP, since after the shine wears off you can go full circle and actually see the place for what it is.

So closet Gays....keep denying lol

Rather dumb question, as to think that the reasons I did something 15 years ago would still be applicable today. Nothing has gone wrong, its just been life playing out.

It's better to play the hand you are dealt rather than letting the hand play you.

Except there are zip bar girls and the miners are paying $300./hour for an escort. Perth is one of the most expensive places on the planet.

I'm curious which bottle shop beer is cheeper than 7/11 beer here?

$40 for 24 beers. Google it.

Why (among other reasons) do I prefer living in Thailand vs. back in the good ol' US of A, because as Greta Garbo put it (1932):

Image result for garbo alone

Yes only 1 person called Keith in Pattaya.

OK, I got to believe the Keith haters are the ones who have no where else to go and little money to do it with. Because, when you have money the world is yours. And if he does come back to good ole TL he change his TV account and start all over again. Good luck Keith.

Perth bottle shops have 100 beers better than that.

They are from cold miserable countries.

America is indeed a country. If you said it isn't, you're wrong. If Wiki said it, then Wiki's wrong.

You are welcome to call it whatever you want, but unfortunately you would be wrong.  The official name of the country is the United States of America. Although citizens of the USA call themselves Americans, they are referred to as "norteamericanos" or even Estadounidenses by the "Americans" who inhabit Latin America.  Of course, the term of endearment, gringo,  is often used as a substitute.  You don't like wiki? No problem, let's visit one of the thousands of other sources, https://www.duolingo.com/comment/3530261/Americano-vs-norteamericano-vs-estadounidense.  As for your  Mexico example, all Mexican official documentation, including passports and government documents  refers to the country as Estados Unidos Mexicanos.  The citizens refer to themselves as Mexicanos.  Teaching moment over.

Not dumb at all. You say Perth is fantastic so there must have been a good reason to leave. That hardly constitutes as a dumb question in my book.

You can choose to be impolite but I will stay calm and well mannered.

Have you lived in 1 city your whole life?

I did nearly all are $50-$60 dollars except for the very rare specials and keep in mind you have to buy bulk and need a car just to carry a carton unless your lucky enough to be on a $5 dollar bus route so you can add another 10 bucks to the price and the class act of carrying a carton on your shoulder ,  and OP said he doesn't want to sit at home like a hermit so that kills that argument of drinking alone and that hardly compensates for the $10 schooners in bars  , heck i can play with a young honey for  a $5 lady drink here.

Good luck with playing with anything unless you spend $50 on drinks for some granny

There is nothing good about it unless your libido is shot . Maybe OP should just come out and say it.

swings and roundabouts.

the same site you quote re beer prices has a special on for wolf blass yellow label at 2 for 20 AUD.

thats less than 500 baht for 2, where one bottle in thailand comes in over 1000 baht.

the price of booze is a pretty shitty reason to choose where to live. if i want a drink i buy one it doesn't really matter where or how much.

edit, villa market has red label shiraz on for 689.  its 12 bucks in aus, half price.

personally i dont think the op will be much happier no matter what he has in his glass...

You missed the most important part... lady drinks.Good luck with that in perth unless you like some skank sitting on your lap and no touch for $50

But I was replying to the post that said it was cheaper in oz so your taking my reply completely out of context.

Never said it was a reason to live anywhere so please try to keep up!!

Dude they are nearly all at the $48 to $60 end and how efing sad you have to get them home and and get drunk alone. is that some kind of life to brag about?

If your trying your best to scab the cheapest carton then your are never going to pay $50 for 5 schooners in a bar!!!

You have no idea. They have weekly specials and people drink with friends.

And $2 for a good beer is better than $2 for a crap Thai beer.

Then there's humdreds of whiskies and wines to choose from.

Thank God for that hey?.....:cheesy:

At 70 have you ever considered that social media has very little importance outside of business?

maybe it is just for young people to call each other fat or ugly?

it may be you have let social media influence your decision too much.

try a detox first.  go without electronics for a month and see if you change your mind

Ive never played golf in my life. And if your such a fool to believe that Keithpa is my real name, your an even bigger mug. So, if you still believe Im who you say i am, come around and take a swing some time, and I dont mean with a golf club.
